I have used melatonin for many years and it is safe, effective, has no side effects and non-addicting. I suggest using small dosages first (in the 1-3mg range).

Taking for 1 month. Having SEVERE musculoskeletal pain & stiffness, bulging veins in my legs & purple toenails, extreme drowsiness, but still can't sleep, decreased mental function, depression, weight gain-I can't move due to pain & stiffness. This is a dangerous drug. Be careful

So i struggle with insomnia from time to time. Honestly, I dont love taking medication but melatonin is the only thing that helps me sleep. I usually take a 5mg gummy and it works within an hour. Obviously, there are some side affects. It makes me nauseated after an hour. The next day; i’ll feel tired until 1-2 Pm if i take it at 12AM and then I have energy and cant fall asleep the next night until late. Kind of funny! THIS MED IS MAGICAL THO. Honestly I highly recommend not scrolling through a ton of reviews when you have insomnia. I know it can be hard I do IT TOO. But everyone has their own experience when it comes to medication. This is a wonderful “non drug” but I recommend taking it at 9-10 PM. Otherwise you will be drowsy and sick the next day for a while. Maybe start with 1-3 mg. This is all I had. It works within an hour and then I can fall asleep shortly afterword. The side affects beat NO SLEEP. Take the damn medicine, go to bed.Read More Read Less

Swallowed a 3mg fast dissolve pill by mouth before bedtime for only 4 days. Day 1, still woke after just an hour of sleep, but then was able to fall asleep again, woke with horrible headache. Day 2, slept a bit better, but woke with a horrible headache. Day 3, sleep was ok but woke with a horrible headache. Day 4, slept fairly well but woke with a horrible headache, extreme dizziness, nausea and overall feeling awful. Will not take for another day, do not like the way I feel.

Helps to fall asleep more quickly but the longer I have been using it, the more horrible I feel the next morning...anxious, depressed, out of my head with bewilderment, feels like an unpleasant acid trip.... I only have been using it twice a week or so.

It does seem to help me fall asleep easier, but not perfect, but the dull achy headache that won't go away and the depression the next day is awful.

Taken for over 3 years - no side effects other than a little groggy in the morning….I found the liquid form (here in Europe) works best.

Guys I took 3mg last night for the first time and I had the WORST NIGHTMARE in my life. My dad tried to push my mother off the balcony it was so vivid I went to their bedroom crying. I haven’t had a nightmare in 10 years.. And I came here and you guys said it gives you vivid and bad dreams. But this was the worst dream to relive vividly. I only took 3mg of meloset prescribed by my psychiatrist and she said their would be some side affects. I fell asleep in 45minutes but woke up in 6 hours whereas I usually have insomnia and then end up sleeping 12 hours every day cuz of depression. Read More Read Less

Had colon removed to supposedly cure my ulcerative colitis in 2017. Didn't improve afterward. Around 2010 I took 5mg of oral melatonin and my urine turned rust red but not knowing what it meant I stopped taking it. Later I discovered Melatonin may remove abnormal iron in the GI tract. I theorized my UC could be related to abnormal iron buildup so I began taking 10mg of Melatonin at night. Saw major improvements in energy, pain levels and blood pressure. Given the improvement it seems abnormal iron was at least a contributing factor in my systemic inflammation. Read More Read Less

Honestly I don’t understand how this is supposed to work. I’ve struggled with sleep my whole life and have always been told to try it. I have tried it many times for many years and it always keeps me up at night. My most recent time I took it, it had the same affects as caffeine. Yes, I may have felt a bit tired, but my body was jittery, my legs were restless, and my skin was suddenly itchy in random places. Did not happen before I took it. This has never helped me so I’m not sure if my body is different than others or if I’m not doing it right.Read More Read Less

For Covid I read take 20 to 50 mg a day. I tried it tonight, taking 40mg. I feel like a old woman with arthritis with my hip pain and I’m only 36 yrs old. I can can barely walk. Hopefully I don’t have arthritis now and I revert to going back to not have pain with my joints really at all. Maybe it will save my life or from getting cancer from Covid, who knows. But I can’t deal with this pain every day while I still have Covid. Did take away inflammation of my brain though, a symptom I’ve been having for a week and a half now. This constant head pressure that hasn’t gone away. Read More Read Less

I never could tolerate melotonin till i read you should be taking no more than HALF a milligram not five or 10mg that is so commonly on the pharmacy shelf! So I tried half a mg (sublingual) sometimes less for a month or more. I found at first it worked pretty good to get me to sleep and have 4 or 5 solid hours of it, it did make me almost immediately dizzy so I HAD to lay down. However after a while I soon began to get side effects. Literally almost everyone typically listed, next day dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, diarrhea, chills, low mood. At first I didn't realize it was the melatonin but then I stopped using it and the symptoms went away. Melatonin is a hormone and I believe after multiple experiences with it that its best to not play around with your hormones as you cant anticipate the potentially serious effects it can have on your body. I actually feel much safer taking a antihistamine to sleep.Read More Read Less

Melotin MR tablets are useless. They did NOT work one bit. I even doubled the dose and it still had no effect. Dont waste your money. Ive hear many other stories that these do not work as well.
