I take a combination of morphine, ms-contin, oxycodone plus a deurogesic patch for going on 20 year now. i take 1 tablespoon and in 24 hours or less it works. i've only taken it for a month but prior to this it was a nightmare I never went without serious struggling and various laxitive combinations. This is wonderful and I can eat now.

This has not worked well for me at all. I have experienced bloating and stomach pain with little to no relief.

My 6 month old was prescribed this due to constipation when starting solids. She has also been having issues with severe reflux. She takes 2.5ml every other night when she is going "regularly" or every night, if not. It has been 5 days since her last good dirty diaper. If and when she does go, it is small hard pieces and she screams afterwards. She isn't sleeping right now because when I put her down, it is hurting her belly. Her stomach is as tight as a drum and almost makes her look like a starving 3rd world child with a distended abdomen. She is severely gassy and her stomach makes all kinds of awful noises. Since being on this medicine, her reflux has gotten worse (I think because she is unable to empty her intestines.) I am waiting on the Pediatric GI to call me back now.Read More Read Less

2 tbsp. 4X daily for high ammonia levels which caused disorientation, confusion. Don't know how much longer I have to take this drug but have been on it since 1/2012. Blood work-up results did not contain ammonia level numbers because my Dr. says the lab results are inaccurate when submitted by Dr's. office so how can I accurately say how "effective" Lactulose is or rate the "satisfaction" regarding it? "Ease of Use"? Drug must be poured into medicine measuring cup 4X a day every 4 hrs. Bowel movements about the same- 4x a day. One Dr. said must take this med until my ammonia levels are in acceptable range. How is this blood ammonia level supposed to be monitored if the lab says blood work submitted by my physician in his office are unreliable?Read More Read Less

I began using this in early March and just decided to stop. It gave me terrible gas, kept me bloated, and only worked occasionally. I'll stick to my fiber-filled food, thank you...

Started 3 weeks ago. Titrated from one teaspoonful--as directed to start--now at 3 tablespoons. Have been constipated since I started on it. Tomorrow is day 4. Calling doctor AGAIN. This stuff is killing me! Stomach feels like a washer/dryer within 1/2 hour after ingestion. I would take heed of the M.D. who commented before me on it's ineffectiveness. WATCH OUT!!!!!
