I've been taking Vesicare (10mg) for over a year now for my OAB and the changes it has made to my lifestyle is just remarkable. Before Vesicare, it was bad. Really bad. Like going to the bathroom 10+ times a day, 3+ times a night, worrying about accidents (which I'd have at least once a week), and that doesn't even include intimacy issues (God bless my husband)... my life revolved around my bat...
Strange side effect…Yes it has worked but, I noticed my ability to have an orgasm has decreased. Even my partner says that my body is not sending him the normal signals and I seem dryer. I am use to being "multiple" and now I'm lucky to get one. I would rather pee more often than be unsatisfied. I also had the dry mouth, skin, and eyes, with acid reflux and blurry vision. I just don't think I can ...

I had all of the side effects, and enabled me to do my daily work at home and work. I would not recommend this medicine to any body.

Started out with 5 mg/day & then soon increased to 10 mg/day to fully control my symptoms-- the need to urinate immediately (inability to "hold it"), and urine leakage due to stress incontinence (coughing, laughing, exercise, etc.) It worked great! I was very happy with Vesicare. I took it for about 7 years but it has recently lost it's effectiveness & I'm now looking for a Vesicare replacement.

Like going to the bathroom 10+ times a day, 3+ times a night, worrying about accidents (which I'd have at least once a week), and that doesn't even include intimacy issues (God bless my husband)... my life revolved around my bathroom usage. Vesicare resolved all of it. Once in a while my bladder gets angry, but it's 99.9% of the time it is either a trigger reflex or pressure on my bladder caused by other internal 'stuff'. I experienced the blurry vision when I first started the medicine, so I switched to taking it right before I went to bed (I can't have blurry vision when the eyeballs are closed), and my vision seems fine by morning. I also have the constipation, but I take Benefiber (2x's a day) and eat two Activia yogurts daily (maybe its mental, but I think it helps).Read More Read Less

I am very pleased with Vesicare. Having problems with OAB my doctor placed me on Oxybutynin a few years ago. Oxybutynin began to cause server constipation, and its effectiveness to correct OAB had diminished. My new doctor placed me on Vesicare 5mg about two months ago. The OAB problem was almost eliminated. I have control of both my bladder and my bowel. The frequent need to urinate and the constipation has ceased. The only side effect I notice is blurred vision. I can still see and am able to drive ok, but close up reading and making out small images at a distance is a problem. I am constantly trying to refocus. Wearing sunglasses outside helps a little. I may have to stop taking this medication if there is no treatment for the blurred vision and the high cost, as my insurance doesn’t cover the prescription.Read More Read Less

I am taking my Mom back to her Dr for another infection.....like the 4th one in about six months. She is very constipated and has dry mouth. I believe it is the Vesicare. Today I am going to see if we can cut most of it out or modify her dosage. At 91 she should not have to worry about the efficacy of her medications. It does work for her but the side effects are becoming too much to deal with.

MAJOR CONSTIPATION, even with high doses of Metamucil three times a day! I was given this medication because my insurance company would no longer cover Detrol LA, which worked beautifully with no side effects. Now taking Oxybutynin which is OK, not great, but OK.

Took vesicare for 3 months. Starting having horrible issues with memory loss. Forgetting where I put something I just had or used, dropping keys in the car and locking them in it. I would forget tasks at work, forget daily used passwords, phone codes, etc. Stopped it and in less than a month, memory is fine.

This product reduced leakage before and after voiding. It also reduced the number of times that I need to void, i.e. reducing the times I interruped sleep at night from 3 to 1 times.

It does help me manage to go without a bathroom stop for longer than half an hour but I am getting increasingly agitated-can't remember how to write and spell words, mind is confused and I lack the necessary important concentration to organise my day. I also have severe neck pain all the time which is only relieved temporarily by Chinese massage and a Zopiclone at night.. I worry that I am heading into Dementia.
