Of everything he has been perscribed by his doctors with consideration to his health and chronic kidney failure an ER Doctor ordered a shot of Decadron and within 6 hrs he had almost full mobility restored along with a greater reduction in the pain... far greater re...

Seasonal allergies became non-responsive to OTC anti-histamines and nasal steroid sprays. Doctor gave me a single shot of Decardron and 4 hours later I was 100% better. Minor side effects associated with sleep. Well worth it and I'll definitely do it again if needed!

Have had a constant headache since a car accident 20 years ago, along with a screwed up spine. SED and C-reactive rates are high but I react badly to steroids so trying a 1 mg injection. Injection HURT bad, sweating, dizzy, nausea for about 10 minutes. Took the sharpness of the headache away but still can feel the tension from my neck and shoulders grinding up into my head. My entire neck is fused but still has issues. Not sure I would do the injection again, it was very painful and 1.5 hours later the headache is still pounding and throbbing, it's just not stabbing my brain with an ice pick.Read More Read Less

Had a horrible cough that after 5 days of antibiotics did not go away. Received the Decadron injection and it worked a miracle. After only 18 hours I am cough free and feel like I am back to myself again. So far, no side affects.

In the past when I have had extreme fibromyalgia - or whatever I have- flares, the emergency hospital has given me these shots. It usually breaks the pain cycle right away. I had to go the the emergency hospital again today- and I've been in severe pain all over my body- spine-hips-arms- legs--- and it isn't working quite as fast. I'm getting ready to go to bed & praying for total relief in the morning. This is the only drug that has broken the pain cycle in the past. I think I may have waited too long this time around...Read More Read Less

Drug was given in late afternoon for gout attack. By late evening the positive effect was apparent. In addition this was the first night I sleep more than five hours in a row. In addition apparent inflammation in other areas: knees, shoulders, trunk area were far improved. Imparement doing stairs was gone. General body pain was gone. Needless to say I was treated for gout but the end result treated a number of issues that I had not attributed to inflamation. Very pleased with the medical care from the Doctor as well as the impact of the medication. If you suspect inflamation issues I would give this drug a chance. Read More Read Less

I had a severe allergic reaction to poison ivy. The doctor recommended the Decadron injection first in the office, then Prednisone caps for the next 6 days. By the end of this day after the injection, My severe rashes were noticeably reduced to pink, and some early signs of blisters had reduced to flat skin. When I woke up today, my eyes had nearly swelled shut, and this swelling is noticeably reduced by this evening, with less itching. This day I have felt ill, however, just tired, and having no energy. He also gave me Visteral caps as an anti itch medication which can cause these same side effects. I'm not ill enough to seek medical attention. The benefits of the Decadron far outweigh these side effects. I merely relaxed as much as possible. Read More Read Less

I have been suffering with arthritis for most of my life. About 2 months ago my joints swelled up in my thumb and I lost complete control of it and hurt so bad that I was unable to lift the smallest of objects without dropping. My dr gave me a shot yesterday just half the dose I was supposed to take and by the end of the day I was doing things I havent done since before this started. I had heard so many horror stories about the shots I was very reluctant but was in so much pain I knew I had to do something. Today I almost feel normal again! Read More Read Less

Great results. My mobility came back in no time and I was able to do things I thought were impossible. Only bad thing about this drug it keeps me awake for over 12 hours.

Received Decadron injection after two weeks of non-stop coughing that resulted in severe bronchospasm. Was unable to sleep due to coughing. Injection worked beautifully. I am MUCH, MUCH improved. I am concerned that after two days, I developed a moderately annoying headache, and pain when I cough now in a C-formation above my left ear. This is painful and disturbing. My BP is fine. Have not contacted my PCP yet, and today seems a bit better. Cough continues to decrease each day. Sleeping well now.Read More Read Less

I experienced one of the rare side effects. Giant hives. I'd break out on one leg, which would spread. A couple of days later, the other leg same thing. Knee area, lower thigh. Giant hives, like 2-3" in diameter. I am hoping this drug will wear off soon. I'll never take it again.

Oh my gosh, I just left the hospital for trouble and pain breathing in my chest and back (lungs), and the doc gave me a shot if this via iv in the veins...immediately my whole body felt like it was on fire, head, vaginal area, eye, everything. I started crying it was so scary and painful. The pain eventually subsided, and the nurse gave me water and told me that it just happens sometimes!? All i can say is i never want to experience that again. They gave me take home prescription for it and swore up and down it wouldn't happen if I took the tablet form-but I don't trust it! I'll admit, the pain was a little better after the shot-but not that much. Don't think I will be taking it anymore.Read More Read Less

I took the decadron injection bc i've been sick with a sore throat, sinus pressure, pain in ears, and swollen thyroid glands for 3 weeks. Within in minutes I was extremely tired, sweating alot, and felt like I have a massive bladder infection. 10 hours later, I can't sleep and the pain when I urinate is worse. The medicine is good but the side effects are terrible. I'm also extremely nauseated!

Was given a shot of this due to severe lower back spasming. Tylenol 4, Percocet, baclofen, zanaflex, flexeril.... All provided moderate 3-4 hour relief (not taken at same time, but problem solving). Shot of Decadron has lasted 12 hours already with just mild side effects. Nausea, mood swing, fatigue. I am not sure how long it will be effective, but it amazed me. Saved me an ER trip.

I went to a clinic with what I thought was a cold and the doctor gave me an injection of Decadron 8Mg, 2cc and within an hour or so my face and neck turned red felt very flush, skin and eyes, eyelids got very dry.Presure in my eyes and ears, pain in my neck, shoulders, arms, legs. Numbness in my hands and feet. Honestly think I had a small stroke. Very irritable, severe insomina. been in ER and had IV for dehydration had to go see an endocrine doctor he ran a ton of test (no results yet) and the injection was Feb 14, 2012 and I'm still having a lot of these symptoms. I think doctors should only give drugs like that in severe cases and mine was far from severe.Had a reaction last year to Fludrocortizone so now I'm wearing a medic alert for steriods and I'm not sure if it's all of them of just certain ones. That in itself is scary because I may need them one day in a life threating situation. Read More Read Less
