I have been taking this medication for almost 8 years for anxiety issues. It has been extremely helpful for me. Very recently I was experiencing a bit of anxiety for the first time in many years, so my dosage was increased from 7.5 mg 2X/day to 10 mg 2X/day. The increased dosage has eliminated the anxiety attacks. I see that a lot of people review this medication after only being on it for les...

I started taking this and Pristiq for my depression and Anxiety. I started at 10mg 2x a day and have moved on to 3x a day. Now my doctor has upped me to 15mg 3x a day. It only makes me nervous because my boyfriend who weighs at least 100lbs more than me & 8 inches taller than me was seperately prescribed this drug and his doctor only has him take 5mg on an 'as needed' basis. Either I'm beyond anxious or I'm being overprescribed.

I have been on Buspirone for 3 months now. It was prescribed to kind of level me out. I take 15mg twice a day. I take one in the morning with out food. This reduces the dizzines and nausea alot. I take the other one right before I go to bed, so I can be a sleep before the dizzyness takes affect. All in all I am satisfied with the results. I can think clear and my annoyance levels have been reduced.

I started taking this medicine because of having severe episodes of racing heart rate to where my heart beat would exceed 150 beats per minute. I was unable to go to anywhere alone because of the fear of having a panic attack or vertigo spell whih is very common with panic disorders. I am naturally a Hyper person and talk very very fast but since starting the meds that has decreased dramatically I did not notice until my husband pointed that out to me. I dont always sleep good and sometimes can be very grouchy from lack thereof but the benefits out way any side affect. I have slow clear thinking I can relax and laugh of my gosh didnt I miss being able to do that. I take 10mg 2xdaily. I still have panic episodes but they come and go quickly unlike before. I do get upset stomach and dizziness but only once in a while and they are not near as bothersome as racing heart vertigo feeling of faintness not being able to do anyting because of racing heart and fear. Dont get me wrong I still have break through once in a while but nothing compared to before. I took xanax 3xdaily for three years and having to increase the dosage the why that it covers up instead of cures the symptoms was not for me I wanted permanet fix so that I could live my life without my hands wrapped tightly around that med bottle was horrible and the attacks would come as soon as the med wore off plus coming off them drugs was no fun treat either. My life as a person, mother and wife has greatly improved it took about 2-3 weeks to feel better and to hang in there but GOD IT WAS WORTH IT. I am how I used to be and love every minute of playing with my kids going out to the store and not say I am dizzy, my heart is beating so fast I think I am going to pass out she is gone and I am back!!!!!!Read More Read Less

This comment is for the person taking 10 mg. twice a day. My doctor boosted mine up to 10 mg. also for anxiety and I was sooo paranoid that I truly thought the police were hiding around the corner for me. I will NEVER take 10mg. again. I went down to 5mg and am just fine. Maybe your dosage is too high????? Hope it works for you.

I have been taking librium for 25+ years and never had a better drug for anxiety until I was forced to get a new doctor due to mine retiring. My new dr would not prescribe the librium. Wanted me to see a Shrink if I still wanted that drug. NO WAY! I'm not nuts...just anxious especially at bedtime! Was prescribed the BUSPIRON.....absolutely horrible drug!!! Took it three nights in a row...felt dizzy, an awful roaring & clicking sound in my head, light headiness, & throwed up my guts each time. Did not calm me at all. Scared me to death!!! Reported this to new dr and she still wanted to have me see a shrink! Whats wrong with this picture??? Not taking that drug ever again but I still cant relax enough to sleep after almost a week. What can Ido? What I experienced and others pretty much the same...this drug should be taken off the market!Read More Read Less

I have been taking buspar for about two weeks now and im on 10mg twice daily and it is horrible the side affects. I get so dizzy at work that i cannot move or i will throw up and/or pass out..i get extreme hot flashes and feel paranoid like something is bringing me down. I feel dumbed when the side affects wear off..and more anxious and or more hyper. i cannot see this working for me if i feel this sick after taking it. I am also prescribed trazadone 50mg tablets to take to sleep because this pill speeds me up ridiculously. hope this helps.Read More Read Less

I am completely satisfied with this drug. When I first started taking this drug, I did not get an instant reaction from it. It does take a while to build up in your system. But now that I have been on it for a little over a year, I am not going to stop taking it. I am seeing very good results in my anxiety level.

On 30MG twice per day and haven't noticed any real improvement. Did get a slight rash for about the first week but it went away after that and no other adverse affects for me. Combination of this and Xanax (alprazolam), Lithium and an RLS drug does aid in daily anxiety and restlessness but who's to say whats helping and whats not.I'll say it could work for some people but would be bad for others. Worth a try if your running low on options.

To be quite honest I am depressed and still worry about everything, but I am afriad to stop taking it.. So I dont know..

my first month. 15mg pill and I take half daily. Notice tingling in hands. But most of all I notice that I dream every morning. Dreams are so bad that I wake up and have to get up and walk to the kitchen and back to try and shake it off. Never have I had these bad dreams before. Has anyone else had this effect?
