I have been taking this medication for almost 8 years for anxiety issues. It has been extremely helpful for me. Very recently I was experiencing a bit of anxiety for the first time in many years, so my dosage was increased from 7.5 mg 2X/day to 10 mg 2X/day. The increased dosage has eliminated the anxiety attacks. I see that a lot of people review this medication after only being on it for les...

I've had moderate anxiety for about 10 years now and just recently sought help. I started on Valium about 3 months ago. I liked Valium but was unable to function at work due to the drowsiness it caused. For this, my doc switched me to Busiprone. This is my third day. So far, I am pleased. I have intense anxiety attacks when I'm getting ready to leave my house. I'm no longer experiencing that. No more hot flashes or feelings of being smothered. I still am getting slight feelings of anxiousness but nowhere near what's normal for me. My only complaints are: mild nausea, "shock" waves or muscle jerks (thankfully lasting only about 20 minutes after swallowing the pill), and dizziness/lightheadedness. I still favor this over falling asleep like I was with Valium. I also like that it's non-narcotic and, thus, non-addictive. This is only my third day so I'll come back in a few weeks and review again if there are any changes in my experience. Good luck to everyone.Read More Read Less

takes the edge off, works well with luvox on anxiety, panic and depression. Get drowsiness but take most of meds at night and small dose in the am.

This medication has been a lifesaver for me. I have been taking it since March for Panic disorder. Previously my doctor had me on Zoloft, which had no effect on me at all, even seem to have made it worse. For the exception of feeling dizzy within the first hour, this medication has literally helped me feel like a normal person again. Just a tip...It may not work for everyone, but when I take this med on an empty stomach, the dizzy feeling isn't as intense.

I was prescribed this for panic attacks along with .25mg Xanax to be taken only when needed. I've only been taking it for a few days, 10mg two times a day. I have not had any side effects from it, which is good. During the day, I forget I've even taken anything. So far, I can't really tell if it's helping my anxiety or not. I haven't been in a situation to really "test" it, like going into a crowded public place. I do feel more relaxed at home, though. I've heard it can take a few weeks to build up in your system. Maybe then I will notice a big difference. But I am glad for the lack of side effects. SSRIs gave me HORRIBLE side effects.Read More Read Less

I've been on this medication for a week and can already tell a difference. I take 15mg twice a day. The first day I took the doses too close together, and that made me feel dizzy. I have also noticed that I am a bit lightheaded about an hour after taking the dose, this this is not bothersome. I plan my activities so that I'm not doing anything such as driving during that "dizzy stage" which starts about an hour after taking the dose and lasts maybe an hour. I am more calm and am beginning to feel like myself again. This has been a lifesaver for me!Read More Read Less

I noticed a difference in about two weeks, in combination with Clonazapam 1mg a day and fluoxetine 40mg aday. The fluoxetine helped with my deppression; but not anxiety. So iwas started on clonazapam; but still had some anxiety. I started on the Buspirone slowly 1 a day for two days, then two a day for a week then two twice a day from then on(total 60 mg a day). I feel wonderfull!! After years of deppression, and anxiety, I finally found a doctor who took it all away with this medication. I have spent thousands of dollars on therapists and medications for years. I hope that this therapy will continue to work forever.Have had no side affects!Read More Read Less

For me, this med was a lifesaver. I almost lost hope for my gad/depression/panic disorder after taking almost all benzos, ssri's, and diff mood stabilizers and seroquel ineffectively. This med made me feel normal after a year of suffering from my disorders. But it took so long to work, more than a month. Well worth the wait, i didn't think I was going to make it i felt so helpless. Only side effect is slight nausea for about 30 mins after taking it. Benefits outway the cons.

i have been on buspirone for about a year now. i was put on it to help with my anxiety and panic attacks. i take 5mg in the morning and 10mg at night. if i take a full dose in the morning, i become very dizzy, lightheaded and nauseous. its good for lowering my overall anxiety, but i still have panic attacks. i recently started taking paxil so hopefully the combination of the two will help me feel better

Drug taken in combonation with Lexapro and it works. Only issue is the price. without health insurance it is way too expensive. However, if Dr. writes script in 10mg tablets then Walmart fills for $10.00. That is a savings of about 160.00
