I have been taking this medication for almost 8 years for anxiety issues. It has been extremely helpful for me. Very recently I was experiencing a bit of anxiety for the first time in many years, so my dosage was increased from 7.5 mg 2X/day to 10 mg 2X/day. The increased dosage has eliminated the anxiety attacks. I see that a lot of people review this medication after only being on it for les...

I have been on this medicine for several years. I take it twice a day and was told it's the only non-addictive anti-anxiety med available. Is this true? My anxiety has returned, and I would like to try something else.

Took my 1st 10mg pill today. It made me extremely dizzy and felt like I was going to faint. Negative effects lasted several hours.

I have a long history of anxiety and am on several other psych meds for that as well as depression. My anxiety had been really bad and my doctor had taken me off of Xanax and wanted to try this drug. I was on 5mg 3x a day. It did absolutely nothing for me. I was on it for about 4 months. Now I'm back on the benzos

I've been taking this drug for about 6 months now and while I do notice a slight difference I still deal with anxiety. I started with 2 15mg pills everyday which didn't really do anything for me. Now im on 15mg 3x a day which seems to help more but I'm either dizzy on it or have a headache. I hate having to take 3 pills a day too because it's easy to forget or skip a dose because of side effects.

Today is my first day taking this drug for Generalized Anxiety disorder. So far, I don't feel dizzy or anything. I will give it a week or so to see if it works for me. I hope I don't get all of the worse side effects such as depression or suicidal.

I originally commented back on 4/1/2011 when I had just started taking this drug for anxiety, and I can say, now that I've been on it for a few months, it has helped me tremendously. We're still adjusted med doses, but I have more energy, I'm not as jittery and anxious all the time and I find myself stepped out more to do the old activities that I used to enjoy before the anxiety issues struck. I am now taking 5mg-3X a day, but I am about to increase to 10mg-3X a day. I'll keep you all posted. Still no major side effects other than slight dizziness a little while after taking the med. Good luck to each of you!!! Read More Read Less

Once this med was in my system for about a week, then I could start telling a difference. I have been on this med for about 5-6 yrs. and seems to be doing its job. I tried going off the med thinking I don't NEED it anymore....wrong. I could tell on the 3rd day after I stopped. I haven't had any side effects with this med like I have tried with some in the past. Everbody is different..have different levels of anxiety, so you may have to try different ones to see which one is right for you. I'm sticking with this one!!Read More Read Less

Was diagnosed with anxiety about 2 years ago. Was first given .25mg of Klonopin. Didn't see any change in mood, and it never helped the episodes. Was given .50mg of Xanax, and liked it but had the doctor take me off of it to keep from becoming dependent. Was put back on Klonopin 1mg and that was amazing. I went off medications for about 6 months due to losing my insurance. Went back to Doctor, and asked for somthing beside klonopin or xanax. Was given Buspar. I took it for a week, and I couldnt stand it. I was jittery all the time. My thoughts seemed scrambled, and I was nauseous the whole time. It also kept me awake all the time. I tried to take it with food and that didnt help. I also have insomnia so staying up all night was a deal breaker. Now back on Xanax 1mg 3x a day. Which I only take when I am away from work. It makes me too drowsy. Buspar is awful. Hope this helps.Read More Read Less

I have been using this drug for 4 days and already hate it. I'm on 10mg for 3 to 4 times a day, I don't feel sick but very nasty all day after taking it. I shake and twitch all day now and have trouble seeing 1/2 the time. I wake up every 20mins at night and stay up for and hour then it starts all over again. I tried to eat before taking it and after and nothing seems to work. I feel like my mood asn't changed at all but I have added more on top of it all.

I have been on this for almost a week now. My prescription is 15mg. I took the first dose on an empty stomach. Big mistake. After about 30 minutes, i was very dizzy, could hardly move and was very nauseas. The next dose i took half of it on a full stomach.. That was MUCH better. Im going to take 1/2 of it for about a week to try and get my body use to it. I will try a whole dose Saturday when i am at home. It has worked pretty good at keeping me from losing my temper so fast. Maybe a full dose will help me have more patience at work. :) Read More Read Less

My child has been taking this for atleast 2 months. He has been diagnosed as having anxiety seperations from me to school and more. Also been told he has ADHD. I think he has Bipolar Disorder. It runs in the family. My mother feels like he is more verbal to her and angry to her. He shows these symptoms to me also, but was wondering if this is a side affect from the medication.
