I have been taking this medication for almost 8 years for anxiety issues. It has been extremely helpful for me. Very recently I was experiencing a bit of anxiety for the first time in many years, so my dosage was increased from 7.5 mg 2X/day to 10 mg 2X/day. The increased dosage has eliminated the anxiety attacks. I see that a lot of people review this medication after only being on it for less than a month. This medication can take up to 3 months to be fully effective, so I would advise anyone who is thinking about taking it to give it a full 3 months before deciding it is not working.Read More Read Less

Was on clonazepam for 30+ yrs, thru 2 MDs. New doctor is an OD who doesn't want patients on benzodiazepines, so he put me on buspirone. Began on 5mg, 3 x a day and had MAJOR panic attacks. If I slept, I was afraid to get out of bed, upon waking and more afraid to leave home. Hyperventilated, cried and heart rate soared. Put on 7.5mg, 3 x a day and still have to convince myself to leave home. I've been on antidepressants over 35yrs. Side effects: dizziness (when looking up), bouts of SEVERE sweating (wet clothing), ringing in head/ears, increased joint pain (have arthritis), instestinal pain (thought may be diverticulitis), episodes of acid reflux with severe pain (on ranitidine 2 x daily), twitching of outer side of eyes, mild throat swelling and worst of all, insomnia (awake 36-48hrs then sleep 6-9hrs whereas on clonazepam, slept 8-10hrs waking momentarily to take meds for chronic pain). Appointment with OD, in 2 days. Read More Read Less

I feel like this medication has helped my anxiety. However it does have a lot of side effects. It makes me very sleepy, i get bad heart burn, and i get numbness in my limbs. For now it's worth it because no other anxiety meds have helped relieve the anxiety.

The first time I took it, a couple minutes or into an hour after I took it I felt a kick start in my heart, like I felt it kick in. And I have a less chances of anxiety and I can think more clearly. But I am developing memory problems. I have no clue if this medicine does that or not. Sometimes I cant remember if I took a dose or not, and I usually wait until my next dose is due. I take celexa with this drug and I feel a huge improvement in my daily life, but most of that is Thanks to God. To God be all The Glory! God Bless you and Thank you.Read More Read Less

I was prescribe 15 mg 3 times a day. off course you have to start with lover dose as 5 mg 3 times a day. medicine works good, I felt some side effects just in my first week, nothing major . But after taking it for about 2 month it become less effective for me, my doctor told me to take a double dose, i did it for a month or so and i got used to it again. so i got back on 15 mg /3 times a day and i take a breaks from it for a couple of days. It works best for me with no withdrawal symptoms at all. Read More Read Less

I too get "jittery" between doses. 10mg 2-3 times a day 20mg at bedtime. Trigger for dose is I start yawning. It does work though. Need to overlap dose.

Dr. has me taking 10mg 2X daily. I wake up very jittery at 4:00 a.m. which lasts a while. I am going to try 5mg at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime to reduce the side effects from dosing twice a day and see how it works.

I started with 10mg at nite and now am on 10mg 2X daily. I took my a.m. pill without food or snack a couple of mornings and was very jittery most of the day. Now take it with food and much better. Just a little drowsy for about 30-45 min. Sleep good after my p.m. dose. I like this med and it helps with my anxiety.

I was previously on a benzodiazapine and I really did not like it. Sure, it made my anxiety go away but I started having problems concentrating and I just did not like feeling so slowed down and zombie like. So, my doctor put me on buspirone. I have been on it for about 6 months now and I am very satisfied with it. I take half a tablet twice a day (hence the slightly lower ease of use rating). And I like that I still can kind of feel it kick in and relieve my anxiety but I don't feel affecting my life or slowing me down. You will not like it if you are trying to get a "high" from your anti-anxiety but for people who truly have mild to moderate anxiety, it will make day to day living less stressful. This medacation is not good for major anxiety. At 60 mg a day it hardly takes the edge off.It makes your ears ring and always hungry.I am disgusted with it and i am going to tell the doctor if he wont give me something that works i am going elsewhere.I am tierd of these docs passing thes stuff on us.
