I have been taking this medication for almost 8 years for anxiety issues. It has been extremely helpful for me. Very recently I was experiencing a bit of anxiety for the first time in many years, so my dosage was increased from 7.5 mg 2X/day to 10 mg 2X/day. The increased dosage has eliminated the anxiety attacks. I see that a lot of people review this medication after only being on it for les...

I have went through and read the reviews about this particular drug, and would like to agree with many that have to do with side effects. I have only taken this drug for 3 days and already I am experiencing terrible side effects, such as the "shock" waves, cant sleep, nausea, and overall fatigue. I would not recommend this medication to anyone. Its terribe.

I have been on busp. for 3 yrs. and am overall happy, I noticed my natural stutter had gotten considerably worse while on this, It has helped my panic attacks and anxiety and mania episodes. I started off with 7.5mg twice a day and after awhile I went to 15mg twice a day. I missed my meds for one week because of mail in scripts didn't come. I went crazy and had one long mania episode, only slept 3-5 hrs per night, I was ready to fight at the drop of a hat, and was snapping at everybody, but my stuttering got better? I am also taking Lexapro for depresion anybody know where im coming from? I wonder if this slows down my thoughts so I think about talking too much and can't get it out maybe?Read More Read Less

I have really bad panic attacks, go to the ER sometimes. My dr. put me on it today. I only take it as I need it. The tabs are 10mg. I take 1/2 to 1 tablet as needed four times a day. I'm bipolar and OCD also... so it helps with the manic states and the OCD too. So far so good!

I've been on this medication for over 10 years & although I have increased the dose, for effectiveness, it works well with no other known side effects. It's inexpensive & I feel that it is a wonderful drug to help me with anxiety or panic attacks

I actually just took my first 1/2 15mg pill today and i will be working my way up to 30mg a day. I am really nervous after reading all the comments about the side effects, but hey maybe thats my anxiety kicking in. Any helpful advice about maybe wether to take it with food or without, i have a fear of always being sick and I am only 19 and trying function on a daily basis without severe anxiety attacks.

I have only been on this for a few days, but so far I have seen improvements with my anxiety. The only thing is that in the morning when I take it for the first hour or so I get a little lightheaded off and on. But then I am fine. So far so good.

I have been taking this medication on and off for about 2 years. I was constantly thinking and worrying that even my cheast would hurt! i felt like screaming at the top of my lungs, i was crying (not depression just frusterated) and bad headaches and would make up stories in my head"what if this happens" kind of thinking. It was horrible! It was effecting my family and my work. After 2 weeks on the meds I feel 80% better. about 15 min after taking the meds I get sleepy. Sometimes it gives me a headache but for the most part I am very satisfied! Read More Read Less

I took Buspirone 5 years ago for anxiety attacks. I just recently went back on it for similar reasons. The side effects are bad when I take a whole 10mg pill. I break the pills in half and take 5mg 6 times a day to lesson the side effects. It seems to work well doing this way. I don’t think this is a drug that you can feel working right away. It takes 2 to 3 weeks before you really notice a difference. For me, I didn’t feel like it was working until one day I just realized that my stress level went down so it must be working. I think you really need to wait it out for this drug to kick in. However this time around I seem to be having memory problems, forgetfulness, making mistakes I would normally never make. Not sure if this is a normal side effect that will wear off. Overall it’s a good drug.Read More Read Less

I had been taking this drug with effexor. I gained so much weight that I wanted to try something else. My doctor recently put me on cymbalta along with the buspar. I don't know if it's helping me as much as the effexor did. I have only been on it for a week,I want to give it a chance. Does anyone else out there take their buspir with anything else??
