I have been taking this medication for almost 8 years for anxiety issues. It has been extremely helpful for me. Very recently I was experiencing a bit of anxiety for the first time in many years, so my dosage was increased from 7.5 mg 2X/day to 10 mg 2X/day. The increased dosage has eliminated the anxiety attacks. I see that a lot of people review this medication after only being on it for les...

I had been taking this drug with effexor. I gained so much weight that I wanted to try something else. My doctor recently put me on cymbalta along with the buspar. I don't know if it's helping me as much as the effexor did. I have only been on it for a week,I want to give it a chance. Does anyone else out there take their buspir with anything else??

Six months ago I developed anxiety issues so I started taking buspirone 20mg a day, ramped up to 30mg as the 20mg seemed to leave me still anxious. The 30 worked great; now I feel I need less, so I take 7.5mg 2x a day (per dr advice). The only problem I have is sleeping. I have weird dreams and wake up completely in the middle of the night with a million things going on in my head making it very hard to fall back to sleep. I still feel the benefits throughout the day outweigh my problems with sleep, so I am sticking with it. Best of luck to everyone else out there with these issues.Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for 2 1/2 years and had very little anxiety at 40mgs. twice a day. I suffer some nausea with the evening dose but compared to the addictive properties of benzodiazapines I am trmendosously satifisfied with the results of Buspar.

I found this drug easy to use, took away my anxiety about another "dizzy" attack and it had no side effects whatsoever.

i've been on it for a month and haven't seen any progress. if anything, it's gotten worse. i'll try it for a little while longer bc i want to give it a full chance, but there's no point in taking something that's counter-productive.

Did not seem to really help me I do not think. I did get a little dizzyness within an hour of taking it. After about 3 weeks three days in a row I got terrible urges of nervousness/anxiousness. I stopped taking it after that.

ON MEDS FOR 2 YEARS WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS. I TRIED TO COME OFF SEVERAL TIMES IN PAST YEAR, BUT I FELT WORSE THEN BEFORE STARTED MEDS. FELT LIKE I WAS ADDICTED TO EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS MEDS ASSIST IN RELEASING NATURAL CHEMICALS IN BRAIN. SPOKE TO PHARMASCISTS STATED THAT" IT WAS NOT ADDICTIVE, ALSO EXPERIENCING HAIR LOSS. ANYONE OUT THERE WITH SIMILAR REACTIONS?
