My doc prescribed (10mg) this to me after not having periods off/on for over 2 yrs. It has worked great. 1st month I started 16 days after 10th pill, 2nd month 7 days later 3rd month and following months 6 days later. Not only am I now having normal cycles, I have lost weight, headaches have reduced - I feel almost normal again! The first cycle was very heavy but have gotten lighter each month...

I've been on this medication for 4 days now. My doctor prescribed it to start my periods again since my period has been absent for 4 months. I was prescribed a 10 day dose, today I am expieriencing rib pain, stomach cramps and EXTREME tiredness, also a loss of appetite. Can't wait to end this medication! I'm just hoping it brings my periods back and not too heavy.

I have PCOS and went about a year w/o a period before seeing a doc. Needed a D&C to clean our my uterus. Now on my third month of this med - hoping to jump start regular periods. I have chronic depression and this is really kicking my butt. I've needed extra therapy appts these past few months. Been on the verge of crying - which is very out of character for me. I am looking forward to taking it every 3 months.

As most of you have said my Dr. give me this pill to jump start my period since its been 7 months since my last one. I have only been taking it for 3 days and so far the only thing Im worried about is I have a little swelling in my hands and I am going to call my dr tomorrow. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Im a little worried but when I've had my period my body used to do the same thing on it's own if I didnt drink enough water. Has this ever happened to anyone and if so what did you do about it?Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this pill to get my period (currently absent due to weight gain) once again started. I have seen nothing yet and my ob-gyn was confident i would. I have, however, had extreme painful, PAINFUL headaches all day and all night.

My Dr. just diagnosed me with PCOS and he gve me this medication to start my period after not having one for 5 months. I finished the 10 pills 7 days ago and still no period... I have been extremely Tired, nauseous, weak, very tender breasts, and can't seem to drink enough water. I too was wondering if it's possible to get pregnant while on this medication? I've been trying to get pregnant but no luck due to the PCOS I never ovulate. Has anyone else become pregnant while on this medication?Read More Read Less

This medicine has made me regular. I've taken it for three months. First month it took 9 days after my 10th pill, second month, one day, third month, period began while taking the pills - on the 7th day. Cramps were worse third month and I continue to have trouble sleeping. Also have had bad headaches right before and during my period. Has helped with the clotting. I'm just trying to hold off on a hysterectomy so at this time, I guess it is helping.

I took this three times so far in my life. My doc gave them to me before starting Ortho Novum. She wanted to see if I had the ability to bleed to begin with. The first time I used it, it took a week after I'd stopped for me to bleed (my first ever period). The second time was because I hadn't been faithful to taking the Ortho due to the fact I'd throw up sometimes. That time, I bled the week after I stopped. I just finished my third time taking it, and bled a few days after I finished. The cramps are something fierce, but I assume they'll get better, since when taking the Ortho Novum the cramps were killer at first, then not bothersome as years passed. I don't remember how I was before, but I felt 'off' while taking it, and it bummed me out. A day or two after my week ended, I was fine. Luckily for me, I now have a choice between taking a low-dose birth control pill, or sticking to this. I'm leaning on sticking to this, since it's one less pill to worry about, and I'll only need 10 days worth.Read More Read Less

After 2 weeks on Medroxyprogesterone, I started getting strange bumps on my head. a few weeks later, pain in my left side. I took it for 4 months. I have had significant hair loss since stopping almost 3 months ago. Bumps still on head. Ohter conditions have been ruled out. Hair is thinning all over, with some super thin spots. Dont take this stuff!

Yes, it stopped the clots and heavy bleeding, but I think my killer headaches are related to the medroxyprogesterone. I get them 5 days before I am supposed to start the pill (10 days/month).

I have PCOS and my Dr advised me to take this med every 3 months for 10 days. I always get my period a few days after I am done taking them. The only thing that I cannot stand is how moody it makes me it's like you PMS ten times worse! the entire time I am taking it I am just mean and ready to duke it out with everyone!

I have PCOS and have been on this for a year. I have HORRIBLE mood swings. I'm always tired, and it takes ALL my energy to get out of bed and go to work. I'm only supposed to take this for 7 days every 3 months, but I end up having to take it for 12 days since I never get my menstrual period after the 7. I'm about to call my doctor and try to get something else.

I have been taking this now for a month, I am wiped out, can sleep all day/night. No energy and bleeding now going on my 3rd week. And bleeding meaning massive amount and large clots, as long as a dollar bill and about 1/4 inch thick. Called doc he said it's normal. I was diagnosed w/endometrial hyperplasia.
