My health was perfect outside high blood pressure. I was put on ACE and now Valsartan (ARB) and have not felt good in 2 years. I have chronic throat swelling, vocal chord irritation with relentless tickle. My sinuses are blocked on both sides 24/7. I also have balance issues daily with dizziness in stores. I decided to end using Valsartan and in two days my nose started to open back up and my throat swelling/irritation and tickle ended. I no longer feel balance issues and mentally alert again and not tired all day. I want to warn anyone out there if you get these issues walk away, I lost 2 years of my life to a silly drug that lowered my pressure like 7pts, that is a right to do this to people. I started to loose my hair badly after almost 3 months of taking it and read side effects on it.. Hair Loss was not even mentioned until the very end of the website I was on. You, the manufacturer need to get this side affect out in the open. Also, I felt like I was in a fog the whole time.

I was put on this after trying Lisinopril. It did not lower my pressure much and it caused my pulse to go close to 100, normally 68-75 pulse. After month on it I noticed I had terrible dizziness, brain fog, tired feeling, and horrible stuffy nose. I don't feel this med is worth it, minimal results tons of side effects. After being so frustrated with all this I stopped all my meds and gee my pressure is like 138/90 which for a 50 year old is not horrible. Add in more cardio and good foods and I am sure it will fall more. Honestly, the side effects are not worth it anymore, I refuse to spend every day feeling 40 years older than I am to maybe extend my life by 6 months. I have read studies and there is no proof taking these pills extends your life, if anything most indicate an increase in having serious issues so they make it worse.
Good luck all, bottom line is watch your weight and diet and avoid these pills. Read More Read Less

I started taking Valsartan 80 mg on 4/15/2022 I had been taking a different med for my BP and for the first 3 weeks all went well BP went down slightly, but this week of 5/9/2022 I started having severe and I do mean severe dizzy spells where the room just spins.. I decided to do some reading on this med & came upon these reviews & now I've decided to stop taking the meds until I speak with my doctor about this.. I was so dizzy this week I was afraid to get into the shower, and I could not go out either because I didn't want to get behind the wheel of my car & drive.. I already have Stage 3 Kidney Disease so not sure why my 'new' doctor changed me to Valsartan.. Read More Read Less

This medication helps lower my blood pressure, but the side effects are terrible. I'm unable to concentrate, dizzy, leg pain in left leg only, fatigue, no energy, insomnia and the list goes on. I'm taken 80mg 40am/40pm. Last night didn't take it and slept normal. Waiting for a change from Dr.

I was on atenolol for a few months, it reduced my heart rate and my diastolic, so dr put me on valsartan, this drug a nightmare, the first day of taking i experienced very bad side effects, pain all over my body. my back, my head and mostly my kidney area.. after day two i experienced decrease in urine output and i couldn't poop the whole day, i knew something is wrong.. day 3 on the drug, i could feel my kidney pulsating every now and then and i felt pains on my lower back, my groin area, i knew i had to stop the drug instantly after reading that this drug could make your kidney function worse. why in the hell will a dr prescribe this medication from hell.Read More Read Less

I went in to the doctor for the first time in over 20 years for a physical. Instantly after checking my blood pressure they put me on an EKG. 165/95. Heart checked out. Matter of fact all of my blood tests came back higher than average. They prescribed Valsartan. Within a week of taking it it changed my life. Sleep through the night, stopped snoring and my stress levels are 50% of what they used to be. I realized after taking this drug, i had been sick for several years and did not even know it. I have not had any side effects that I am aware of beside benefits. Read More Read Less

After taking two months of this drug, I begain having pain on the left side of my body. Before taking the next next pill, my heart gave me a hard shock and I lost my breath. Then I could not move and I was paralyzed. After ten minutes or so I was able to move. Sort help and was told to discontinue this medication.

doc first put me on Hawthorne and beet root powder which helped some but BP numbers were still too high most of the time. He then put me on Lisinopril which caused chronic low level coughing. He switched me to Valsartin and so far after 6 months now no problems and no coughing. IMO valsartin is a great drug. I wish the beet root and Hawthorne would have worked as i would rather not be on a drug but as far as drugs go Valsartin works for me with no bad side effects as far as I can tell. Gets my bp down to about 130 over 78 to 85 .No matter what the 120/80 seems out of reach for me so doc says as long as i am no more than 130/85 call it good.Read More Read Less

After taking this medication for a while, I developed no control over my bladder or bowels. I had to get up at least 10 times per night. I have been off of it for a couple months now and still having the same effects although less often. I do not recommend it.
