My condition was caused by to large a doseage of "water pills"/diuretics. My arms and legs became very weak and was having terrible leg and foot cramps. After 1 month of taking 2 KLOR_CON a day, and 2 more months of 1 a day, all the cramps have stopped, and the weakness is much better. I solved the hard to swallow problem, by dipping my pill in soft butter, immediately pop it in my mouth, and ...

I put about 1oz-2oz of cold low-sodium V8 juice in a tall glass, drop a whole M20 pill in, stir a lot, and it dissolves completely in about 15 seconds. Drink it up, and add a rinse of more V8 or a little plain water if there is any residue. Taste pretty good (akin to a salt substitute) and I can finally take these HUGE pills effectively.

The pill is too large for me to swallow whole, and as many have reported, they break the pill in half. I take each half in a spoon of no-added sugar applesauce and the pills go down much easier.

I put a small amount of water or juice in a cup et the pills dissolve and drink it down. If you drink it as soon as it is dissolved the pills don't get that salty taste - then just drink some more water or juice. It shouldn't taste bad, it shouldn't get stuck in your throat, really I don't understand how people are having such a difficult time with pill - it's a lot easier than taking a whole pill - again just dissolve in a small amount of water.

I have been on two different strengths. I am some one who can take multiple pills at once, but this medicine is too difficult to swallow. It gets stuck in my throat and begins to fall apart. Klor-con M 10 would dissolve into grains of potassium salt. Both are horrible, I even coat it in peanut butter to try to get it down. This is the worst medicine that I have ever taken, and unfortunately I have a lot of medicine. I am a nurse so I know all of the tricks in the book this is just the worst pill and no one cares to improve it.Read More Read Less

These horse pills start to dissolve as soon as I put them in my mouth. It's like trying to swallow sand. I have to coat them in butter and that makes it way easier to get down. .

I was prescribed this medication for low potassium levels. The problem is I can't take it. Every time I try it causes severe gastritis and vomiting--and we all know that vomiting makes electrolyte imbalances worse. I have tried taking it with food, drinking tons of water, etc., and nothing has helped. I have no idea what to do anymore. I am exhausted all the time and have muscle cramps and numbness of the hands and feet from this deficiency.

All of you are right. These are horse pills but if you break them in half they are a LOT easier to swallow. I have taken them since Huly 2019 and already my potassium is where out is supposed to be and Dr has reduced my dosage to 1 pill 2 times a day.

Taking diuretics to help with calcium retention issues. Prescribed this to prevent potassium issues. I've been on it 1.5 weeks, so cant tell if its helping. But I've noticed that I'm having trouble swallowing, feeling that my tongue or throat is slightly swollen. I have an annoying feeling in my throat. Possibly a reaction to it. I'm not taking anymore just in case. They were just too big to swallow also. Plus they cause me bloating/gas and can potentially cause significant GI/stomach problems which I need to be wary of due to my weight loss surgery(gastric sleeve).Read More Read Less

The drug seems to work but I really hate taking it. The pills are big and hard to swallow and they don't dissolve well in water.

This is an update on my original review. I have only had my blood pressure go below 90/60 twice since using this and two other meds. And when I went to the doctor who prescribed them yesterday, after being on them 3 months, my potassium is at the right level for the first time I can remember.

This is a great med. I was testing low on potassium every time I was tested for it. My knees would ache like crazy every night. Since starting on this my knees have had no problems with being achy since beginning it. I have a lot of medical problems anyway, so less discomfort is wonderful.

Found out my blood potassium was low when a common stomach virus caused it to dip so low that all my muscles were seizing up and I landed in the emergency room. Was prescribed these horse pills, they said I could dissolve them in water. Not so! It does not even come close to dissolving. Got tired of gagging on them every single time, am now in search of an alternative. Horrid, horrid pills! I used to give boluses to farm animals and these are the same size as pills for a full-grown ram!

Had low potassium which caused heart problems. After taking this a few days it improved dramatically. I've been on this for 9 months with no problems. Can't swallow pills so my doctor told me to dissolve a pill in 4 ounces of water, swallow that, then add another 4 ounces to get the dregs. It dissolves quickly but settles in the bottom so have to swish it around to get it all. Overall very pleased with this medicine.

I took this drug for 3 & a half months. One in the morning and one at night. This pill is large and starts to dissolve as soon as it touches water. It is hard to take. I stopped taking this medicine becauseI had: weakness, fatigue, sore joints, couldn't lift my arms or sleep at night due to the pain. I stopped taking the medicine to see what happens. My potassium was at 1.9 and taking those raised it to 2.2. Not worth it for me.
