It has helped with my husband's shaking, jerks and dropping things. The only side effect he is having is bad dreams - which is very unlike him. He never used to dream (that he can remember).

my daughter experiences fatigue due to a severe tbi . we found taking one pill before bedtime works to help her sleep better thus not being so fatigued during the day . we were told to take it in the morning but found it made her extremely tired so we switched to nighttime . works well

Works wonderful for me. I take one tablet in the morning and have for many years. It has only been with the progress of my illness that this drug is starting to not be strong enough. Two tablets and it my brain would be working overtime.

I take 1 pill in the morning and I've notice that when I take the medicine I don't feel as tired and cloudy throughout the day. But if I don't take the medicine for more than 3 days, the fatigue and lack of focus comes back. I've had no side effects. It's working for me, although it took me several prescriptions to try it. I struggled with taking something created for individuals with Parkinson's disease.

I started amantadine for PD, and feel so much better, with much less 'off' periods. However it does seem to cause some insomnia but no other side effects so far. It hasn't changed my dyskinesia but I am supposed to increase the dose soon, so fingers crossed

I no longer "time out" or have dyskinesia but I'm not sure it is a fair trade for the depression bout u have to go thru every evening after taking the evening dose.

My son suffered a severe TBI due to a MC wreck. One month after, started on amantadine. Saw almost immediate improvement in cognition. Continued on amantadine for next 6 months. Improvement continued (with appropriate PT, OT and SP).

I have had trouble sleeping. My doctor said to take one in the morning and another at noon. I think I am going to go with just one today around 10 to get me through the afternoon at my keyboard and see how that works.

So far this has been a Lifesaver for me. I've had this problem close to a year. Don't know what I have, I'm on my third neurolgist. I will probably change drugs this year.

I was literally falling asleep on my keyboard at work, and my nuerologist prescribed me provigil..my insurance company wouldn't approve it, so he prescribed me amantadine.. it helped a little with fatigue, but triggered my schizoaffective psychosis, and hallucinations. after that, he put me on vyvanse instead. best decision ever.

I was given this medication due to sleeping from 16-20 hours per day. I was only on it for two weeks. During that time I did not experience any relief from my extreme fatigue. I had a rash on my inner thigh and it took me that two weeks of it worsening before I read that .001% of people on this medication get a rash. So end of med.

I'm one of the children in the traumatic brain injury study...14 years later. At 31, I still take amantadine and it still works. With this medication, I was able to graduate high school and a university, and keep a full time job. I'm also a writer, and amantadine helps me perform better-than-average there, as well. It controls tremors in my hands and my ability to think clearly. I haven't seen (m)any side effects in the decade, plus, I've been on it; however, when it is time for another dose or I'm all out for the day, my thoughts become muddled and speech slightly slurred...No super-late night driving (without extra dose(s)!Read More Read Less

I just started taking this medication about two weeks ago, after my worst relapse since I was diagnosed with MS. I find that it DOES give me more energy. However, I think the side effects may be bothering me: shakiness, weakness, hand temors... am going to talk to my doctor to see what he wants me to do.

I had traumatic brain concussion from a car accident. I took this to help the transmitters in my brain work more and hopefully better. I didn't notice much difference but did notice increased fogginess of my thoughts.
