Hello, I have been using Synthroid for over ten years and find it the best to use. I have never had my dose increased as I follow the SPECIFIC directions for use. Take it at the same time every day (for me, 5 A.M.!)and on an empty stomach--for one hour. I have found, my morning coffee is fine with no cream, or half and half ; a food. I tried the generic form and it did not have the same affect...

Within 8 months of following the brand name Synthroid my new hair started growing in. The generic makes me lose my hair. I also feel great.

I started taking Synthroid 4 years ago and to this day I do not think it is accurately doing its job. Everytime I have my blood drawn my dosage seems to increase, due to the fact I have Hashimotos they said this is common, but the fact I have increased every 3 months for over a year seems a bit off. I have waves a of nausea, high anxiety, very weak feeling, lathargy, and I have a very difficult time sleeping. I'm just still waiting for it to do its job.

Having great difficulty with doctor adjusting dosage. In the meantime my emotions are all over the place, asleep anytime - sitting in chair, on the computer etc. always ready for a nap. No energy.

I have been on this drug for most of my life. The dose has changed frequently but I have had no negative side effects or issues otherwise.

After being on Synthroid for two weeks, my TSH returned to the normal range (T3 and T4 were fine to begin with). Now at almost 8 weeks on the drug, I've noticed that I feel "strange" all the time, in addition to some tingling in my hands and legs. I'm thinking that my body does not like the Synthroid.

I am having increased irritability with the RX. Been taking it for approx 2 week, and find my fuse is a little shorter. this irritability began about 4 days into the rx. Wondering if this will subside as my body adapts to it. Otherwise, it appears fine.

I THOUGHT IT WOULD GIVE ME MORE ENERGY AND HELP ME. INSTEAD IT HAS MADE ME VERY LETHARGIC. ALSO, I HAVE NOW AN ENLARGED EYEBALL, WITH MY EYE LID TWITCHING LIKE IT COULDN'T GET OVER THE EYEBALL. IT STOPPED THAT NOW, BUT MY LEFT EYEBALL IS LARGER THAN MY LEFT EYE, HARD TO BALANCE MY GLASSES. I WAS TOLD BY A TECHNICIAN FROM AN ORTHOLOGISTS COMPANY THAT THYROID MEDS COULD DO THAT RESULT. WHAT SHOULD I DO? AND IS IT DANGEROUS TO STOP TAKING THE PILL?

Started taking this medication several years ago. Last year my primary care M.D. upped my dosage because a G.I. test I had showed "slow motility". Some time after starting the new dosage I started having severe problems with anxiety. Had blood work in April, that dr. reduced my dosage. However, I have been finding that I am struggling with nausea and tiredness to the point that I had a couple of days recently when I didn't even want to get out of bad. Also, still problems with anxiety. Sure my dr. would not agree but I am doing an experiment for myself where I am not going to continue to take this drug. If I find I can function better without it, so be it. It was helpful to me to read that others had bad experiences too.Read More Read Less

Hasimoto disease with Crest Scleroderma which is an autoimmune disease. The thyroid go up and down, one month it is too high, the next month it is too low. The headaches, fatigue and weight gain are a few of the side effects. The feeling of a dull headache in the back of my head everyday is just not worth the medication.
