Hello, I have been using Synthroid for over ten years and find it the best to use. I have never had my dose increased as I follow the SPECIFIC directions for use. Take it at the same time every day (for me, 5 A.M.!)and on an empty stomach--for one hour. I have found, my morning coffee is fine with no cream, or half and half ; a food. I tried the generic form and it did not have the same affect...

I have been on this medication for 2 months and feel like a brand new person. I have "tons" of energy now, no more afternoon napping, I am able to function and concentrate for long periods of time whereas before I had trouble doing either for more than half an hour or so at a time. I feel like I am alive again and I am once again enjoying my family, friends and life in general. I have no signs of adverse side effects. Should my Doc decide to take me off this med he would have a "fight" on his hands. I wish I had gone on it lots sooner.Read More Read Less

Once a month I have a reaction to Synthroid, which I believe is called flushing. This past month it was quite severe - heat wave episodes through my body occurring quite frequently for a total of 24 hours. My last TSH was 4.4

I tried the generics and they did not work nearly as well for me. I go into a mental/physical slump without Synthroid.

I've been taking synthroid since 2000. Not a very high dose but was increased this last checkup. I ran out and just never went to have them refilled and I feel fine. I've been off for 3 weeks now and I feel I've lost weight and become regular again. Maybe I've been on them too long? My only concern is depression as I am on zoloft also. I'm not tired or have any other symptons. Has anyone got off of this medication before?

Had a CBC. I went from 152.55 TSH to .51 in 1 month being on 150mcg. I had bad achy muscles for a month or so and has subsided but now have terrible itching of my body, the arms are the worst. Told my Dr but he won't lower the meds. Did I drop too much too fast? I have been on Synthroid for over 3 months now. It has helped my fatigue and energy level, have lost some weight. I feel if the med was lowered a bit I would not itch so bad.
