(non drinker) I found out I had PBC about 7-8 yrs ago. Have been on this medication and my blood levels have been normal. I was given the option for a biopsy but refused as long as my blood levels stay normal

This medication causes nausea, and it seems to affect my taste buds. I have noticed it seems to have increased my appetite a bit also. I am taking this medication because my GI doctor says I have bile in the stomach although my liver and pancreas is ok and also because she thinks it could be my gallbladder. I am giving it a chance.

I was on this drug for 5-6 months and it seemed to be working as my symptoms seemed to lessen quite a bit. After 3-4 months I began having moderate itching. No rashes, just itching. The doctor lessened the dosage but I couldn't stand it anymore. I notified the doctor and took myself off of it. I was saddened because the drug was working...

This medication does not agree with my stomach and it makes me nauseous. It also takes away my appetite and I seem to be very sad and cry for no reason a lot of the time. I do have to say it has helped my liver function according to the Dr.

I am so happy they told me to try this medication, I've been in and out of the hospital due to gallstones (not fun), tried this and so far I have never felt better than I do now. It's Great!!!!!!
