THIS TABLET GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK virtually overnight. Ive had asthma since 4yr old, and in last 5yrs developed COPD (emphysema). My asthma has worsened to the extent I was using 1 salbutomol inhaler(200 doses)in just 10 days. After taking my first Montelukast Tablet at bedtime, I woke up following morning without any wheezing. I didnt need my salbutomol all day. I was even able to go up and downst...

Symptom: Blurred Vision. I was prescribed Singular for Asthma and in that respect, it was very helpful - my lung capacity was improved as well. But I cannot read for more than 5 minutes as my central vision becomes very blurred. I am an artist and a writer so you can imagine how distraught I was. My eye specialist determine what was causing my blurred vision. I reduced my dosage by half then a qu...

My 11 year old son has been taking Singulair for years. His last refill was12/19/12 and he was given the generic Singulair. My son started having severe stomach pains a few days later. We took him to the ER on 12/29/12, and he was seen by his doctor on 1/2/13 and 1/7/13 because of the severe stomach pains. He's had an X-ray, urine test, blood work and an ultrasound, everything came back normal. He is still suffering with stomach pain. Today I started thinking about what has changed in his diet and realized the only thing that's different is the generic Singulair. I have found several websites with other people complaining of the same stomach issue!Read More Read Less

i have had severe chronic asthma my entire life. nothing has ever been more helpful. i started out with the branded (Singulair) then was switched to the generic version when i didn't have a drug plan, but had terrible debilitating migraines and very scary life like nightmares while taking the generic version. once i was switched back to the branded Singulair the nightmares stopped. I only had the headaches for a few weeks, but the breathing specialist warned me that may happen while my body gets used to the medicine. I practically never have to use my rescue inhaler anymore and even was able to cut my preventative inhaler use in half. Thank you lord, i can breathe normal like i never have before.Read More Read Less

My ears are so blocked up that I have been having bad dizzyiness when I turn my head. doctor said my ear drum was bludging from the blockage in my tubes and prescripted this med for it. I have been taking it for one week now, and the condition is exactly the same as before I started taking it. Not working at all. Will call my dr. and ask for something different.

I have had a minor headache since beginning this generic form of singular. I have been taking singular for approximately one year. I will be calling my Doctor in hopes of getting back on singular. Express Scripts changed me over to this generic form of singular.

I've been taking Singulair for years for allergic asthma and was forced to switch to Montelukast, the generic, when it came out in Sept. this year. Since I started taking it, my allergy symptoms have all returned with a vengeance, and it's as if I'm taking a placebo. Not effective at all. I've called my doctor and am waiting to see what trials we'll have to go through to get back on Singulair without paying and arm and a leg.

Used Singulair for over 10 years with good results. Two weeks on generic Montelukast and I had breathing problems. Six weeks on it and I was in the emergency room. I have COPD and Seasonal allergies. Montelukast did NOT work for me at all. Am back on Singulair brand name and it is working just fine for me.

I have been on Singulair for several years to help control my asthma, with no side effects. Since receiving the generic, the monteleukast sodium, I have been having a lot of crazy dreams and some hallucinations. It's been terrible, some of the things I have dreamt, and the hallucinations have brought me to the point of thinking that I am losing my mind, at times. Although I am glad for the availability of a generic, I do NOT think the side effects are worth it. I will definitely have my MD write for the Singulair, without substitution.Read More Read Less

My insurance did not want to pay for my singular. So I was given this drug. I thought I was going to die last night, my heart was pounding, I was sweating, and felt sick. I should have called 911, stupid me. My hearing went and I sat on the floor for 1 hour. I went back to my MD today and she said I had a allergic reaction.I had a EKG, she said my heart was a little fast and my skin is flushed. I feel like I was beat up.My doc wrote a note to the pharmacist to give me the real singular. I called and left 2 messages for the FDA!!!!!Read More Read Less

With over 5 years on Singulair I enjoyed complete freedom from my rhinitis symptoms together with my Advair for asthma. 4 weeks ago my insurance company changed to the generic and about two weeks later I again have runny nose, post nasal drip, coughing, and vocal changes as I had when my condition was untreated. My doctor tells me that he can write the RX for Singulair only but I will probably have to pay the difference. He was right. Now a 3 mont supply will be $91. I have to budget for this change....There IS a huge difference for me and I will have to pay. Ahhh..Capitalism...Read More Read Less

started taking this pill a week ago today 9/30/12 because Medicare decided to give me the generic version of Singular. I have been suffering from stomach pains so bad, I double up. I have been trying to figure out what else could be causing the severe pain. its in the lower abdomine. Like its my intestine or as if I have a severe bladder infection, which I have had before, but not so much pain.

This has done nothing to help my allergies. This is NOT at all like Singulair!!! My nose has been swollen and running for 2 weeks now. I have had to resort back to eating benadryl... EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED!!!

I've used this drug for years. If due to a pharm or insurance glitch I have to go a day or two without, I'm reminded just how well it works. My asthma is barely to not not controlled, but this is one of the most effective drugs I take.

I've been taking Montelukast for as long as I can remember. I started out with the chewable pills when I was younger then moved onto the non chewable. It keeps my exercise-induced asthma under control and during the colder seasons when my asthma starts acting up bad, it keeps that under control too as long as I keep on using it. But I recently hear this makes the user infertile?? Any truth behind this?

Love this med I have year round allergies that cause runny nose and excessive sinus prussure and pain. With this med I have no symptoms and more importantly no side effects. My body doesn't respond to any traditional(zyrtec, claritin, allegra or any other med) scripts as I have used them all until they quit working.
