THIS TABLET GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK virtually overnight. Ive had asthma since 4yr old, and in last 5yrs developed COPD (emphysema). My asthma has worsened to the extent I was using 1 salbutomol inhaler(200 doses)in just 10 days. After taking my first Montelukast Tablet at bedtime, I woke up following morning without any wheezing. I didnt need my salbutomol all day. I was even able to go up and downst...

Symptom: Blurred Vision. I was prescribed Singular for Asthma and in that respect, it was very helpful - my lung capacity was improved as well. But I cannot read for more than 5 minutes as my central vision becomes very blurred. I am an artist and a writer so you can imagine how distraught I was. My eye specialist determine what was causing my blurred vision. I reduced my dosage by half then a qu...

It is like not taking anything, drainage is back, wheezing is back, runny nose, etc. I also take it with Zyrtec. How many bad reviews does a medication have to have before the FDA does something about it? Several people have been forced to switch to Montelukast generic for Singular

Just like most of the other reviews my company switched from Singulair to Montelukast and all my Asthma symptoms are back. I never had to use my Symbicort inhaler but now I need it everyday. I have used other generic drugs that work well but this drug is the worst.

I prefer the Singular brand over this because this does'nt work as well. I take it for itching and sometimes it isn't effective.

I was under control with my asthma for 13 years taking Singlair. After my insurance switched me to the generic (manufactured by Glenmark) I became worse. I developed migraine headaches and have been unable to sleep well due to night time asthma attacks. I have had to use my rescue inhaler 4 to 5 times a day. The day after I got off of the generic, I did not cough even one time. I thought that was really strange, because it seems that the generic was actually giving me the asthma attacks

My asthma was under control for over 13 years and when my insurance made me switch to the generic (the one manufactured by Glenmark) I was back to where I started. I was having to0 use my rescue inhaler 4 to 5 times a day. This drug caused me to be miserable on a trip to Oxford, England, which would have otherwise been quite enjoyable if I hadn't been so worn out from lack of breath and sleep.

I don't notice ANY difference when I am taking this. I have been on it for 6 months now, and tonight I happened to take it a little earlier than usual, at 8:30 pm, instead of at bedtime. Within 15 minutes, I started sweating profusely while watching TV, and asked my husband if he was hot too. He said no, but asked if I wanted the air conditioner back on. I said no, because I thought maybe it would pass. It did, but the sweating soaked my hair, and my glasses wouldn't stay on my face, due to the sweat running down my face and into my eyes. The only med I took was the Montelukast, so it had to have been that. I was also prescribed Singulair (like others leaving reviews), but Medco automatically subsituted Montelukast for the Singulair. Not having ever taken Singulair, I can't say the one drug works better than the other, but I have never noticed a difference in my symptoms getting better, since using it. I may quit getting it refilled.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this as an affordable generic alternative to Singulair. It does not work. I can't speak without coughing with my allergies. I have had to give up teaching a biyearly course because I can't talk for 3 hours. I also get the same symptoms that I get when I take antihistimines: smells that aren't there. Singulair works perfectly, and allows me to live a normal life, but I can't afford it without health insurance.

I was on Singulair for years, and found it to be a wonderful drug. Recently, the generic form of the drug, Montelukast, was approved, and my pharmacy substituted it for Singulair. My asthma symptoms returned with full force. I had not felt so bad in years. I then paid out of pocket to get Singulair again, and afterwards I had my doctor right up a prescription for brand name Singulair only. After being back on the brand name, my asthma is under control once again. I contacted the FDA and complained about Montelukast, and they in turn contacted Teva USA, the manufacturer of the generic I was taking. Teva did some sampling and found no problem with their drug. The generic simply does not work. Please compare the reviews here with the brand name Singulair and you will see a pattern. This drug simply does not work like the brand name and should be taken off the market before someone dies. Further testing is required.Read More Read Less

The first allgery medication that has worked for me. Others left me miserable and even 24 hour pills lost their effect after only a couple hours. Highly recommend trying

Allergy doctor prescribed this for our 7 year old. The mood disorders are listed under "side effects" and they were ALL there after one dosage. Took it one night and for half of the next day our little guy was thrust into terrible mood swings, temperamental, and very emotional. Luckily, I was volunteering at his school when this all happened. I should add that he's never this way. I hadn't seeing crying like that from him since he was 2 or 3 probably. Needless to say, after one pill we stopped. Doctor prescribed Patanase Nasl now and I'm kind of hesitant after reading up on the reviews of that one.Read More Read Less

I have been on the brand name Singulair for over 10 years, and it has nearly cured my asthma symptoms completely. Having had asthma for over 40 years, I can say that it has been the only truly effective treatment. However, my pharmacy recently switched me to the generic Montelukast from Teva. After a week of taking this generic, my asthma symptoms returned with full force, and I feel as though I am starting over again. I have not felt this bad in years. I have requested two weeks worth of Singulair from my pharmacy, at cost ($99), because it was too soon to refill. I am already feeling better, though still shaky from all the albuterol I had to take while on the generic. I have filed a complaint with the FDA about this drug. Searching the internet, I found roughly 100 other similar complaints about it. I am seeing my doctor, and will insist upon the brand name. We will see if my insurance covers this. This product needs to be pulled before someone dies. Read More Read Less

I'm taking 10MG of Montelukast for two months now ( once a day ) with a daily dosage of Flonase spray for acute allergic rhinitis and it is working really good for me. I stopped using Allegra and Sudafed.

This drug is terrible. I'm back to headaches tightness in my chest and wheezeing. I see my doctor the end of this month and I'm going to beg to be put back on singluar. My insurance will pay for it but at a tier 3 payment. I'll gladly pay the extra.
