I've been using Nuvaring for 8 years now and have had no other side effects than going from a C cup to a D cup, but no weight gain anywhere else! It's very effective and no mood swings. And my sex drive is still very much in tact- never been affected. Much lighter periods are a plus (3 days or less), no more pain with periods at all and not having to worry whether I took the pill at the right time...

Well yes, nuvaring will keep your from getting pregnant. It will also make you an emotional basketcase to the point that a guy who claims he loves you "can't handle it" and runs off with an emotionally unavailable slut. Works wonders in preventing babies though.

Been on the nuva ring for 2 1/2 years and the only issues I have is dryness and my breasts get a little tender right before I start my period. But other than that I love it.

I have been on this for a week and I have not felt myself. I experienced increased anxiety, trouble sleeping, moodiness,as well as an increase in appetite and cravings. I have felt lousy overall. I took it out this morning and I am hoping I will actually sleep tonight without my heart racing. I have 2 kids and I can't afford not to be myself. I will look for another method of B/C.

I love how easy it is. It will slip out while using the bathroom sometimes, or during intimate moments. Also led to weight lots of weight, even with diet and excercise. Also hated the lack of sexual desire. Stopped using after 5 months because of the symptoms. Lost 25 pounds easily, however didnt find another method and got pregnant.

Easy to use, very effective...but don't like some of the side effects, including decreased sex drive, vaginal dryness & discharge, and weight gain. I gained about 10 pounds and cannot seem to lose it. I have now changed methods, so we'll see how things turn out.

It is a litle hard to get in place exactly right. And since there is no generic option for it (yet) it can be a little expensive. If you don't get it in a good position the first time, it can have a tendence to almost slip out and you have to keep trying to get it back in. That is my biggest complaint. Otherwise, it was fine.

well, not pregnent so far, but I feel like I am becasue I constantly feel like crap. I am planning on talking to my doctor for an alternate to this just because I feel pretty crappy all of the time. It works, but I really don't feel like me. I feel more depressed than ever, weight gain- lets face it nobody wants that especially if they have to watch it anyway. As well as moody, severe headaches for no reason (I do have a history of migrains though), My breasts feel huge and tender and it annoys me becasue I'm moody. I have no libido so whats the point of being on birth control? My poor boyfriend is convinced he can feel it and now that i'm used to it I don't feel it, but at first it made me feel like I had an infection or something and I was really concerned but that goes away during my period and comes on again the first few days of use. Definently more tenderness overall- like I used to be tough now i'm a wimp- like if someone pokes my arm or my side or anything it hurts even though it wasn't hard. The good thing is that i'mnot doubled over in bed the first day or two of my period from my cramps. I can also predict my period start days more confidently. i usually remove the ring on a sunday and I start by wednesday and put the ring in again sunday. periods are lighter and less severe, but i'm bloated all the time. Don't even know it's there. Very easy, and if you need to postpone your period (after 4 weeks instead of after 3), you basically have a "freebie" week left in the ring (after 4 weeks, it stops working consistently). Very cool.

Nuva Ring has been the worst experience of my life. I've been dealing with a lot of crappy things in my life since being on it and not realizing that it was side effects until looking some stuff up the other day. I have taken it out and will not go back to it. These are the side effects I have had since going on it. 1.Extreme depression 2.No sex drive 3.Sever leg aches the day before I start my period and the day of. 4.Social Anxiety (I've always loved people and can't handle being around anyone. I feel like I'm going crazy) 5.Bad pressure in my head for a couple of days before I start 6.Hard time getting my words out correctly before period starts 7.WEIGHT GAIN! 8.Exhaustion 9.Mood Swings 10.My allergies have been worse than ever since using it. 11.I seem to get sick easier. The only thing good I experienced was the fact that it made my periods lighter, cause I tend to have heavy long periods. I think I can suffer having 8 day heavy periods over all of this crap. DO NOT USE THE RING!!Read More Read Less

I like the whole idea of the NuvaRing and have been on it for almost a year now. But for the last 5 months or so I have had a decreased sex drive to the point of where it has started to put a strain on my relationship. I am going to change my bc when I meet with my doctor next week. It's too bad because I really like the way it works and I'm horrible about taking pills. But having absolutely no sex drive isn't much fun either.

Its a little difficult to put in the first time, and there are times in the bathroom that it starts to slip out, but other than that I have been happy with it. I am horrible at remembering to take daily meds (not a good thing if u prefer not to be pregnant) so my gyno suggested this. I sometimes have cramps the last week it is in, and the first 3 months I had an increase in vaginal discharge but am now back to normal. It completely painless, the only time I feel it is if it is slipping out, and my husband either doesn't notice it or doesn't mind. I also lost weight the first three months, but am now gaining it back (and fighting it hard). I will never go back to the pill unless they make a weekly or monthly one in the future (which probably won't happen).Read More Read Less

I am currently taking this because I was having bad cramps in my left ovary. The Nuvaring has taken the cramps away however I do have side effects I do not like. I am on my 3rd month and I have experienced dizziness, breast tenderness, occassional brief cramps, depression, trouble sleeping and no sex drive (sorta like feeling pregnant). My doctor says the side effects are from my body adjusting to it and to continue taking it. I don't know, I keep experiencing more side effects as time goes on. I like the idea of not having to worry about taking a pill every day and it's easy to use. It is a little pricey though. My insurance doesn't cover it so I pay $56 a month. I'd almost rather have the cramping in my ovary than have the side effects since I do have 3 kids to 'tend to each day. (None of which were conceived while on a BC.)Read More Read Less

Works great for me. I do have one friend who got pregnant while on the nuvaring, though, so I wouldn't use it if getting pregnant would be the WORST thing in the world (it wouldn't be ideal for me right now but it would be OK.) My friend's doctor said it might be because the ring had not been properly refrigerated prior to use. I do have way increased vaginal discharge but it's just clear or slightly white and doesn't seem like any infection.

This has been the easiest birth control i have ever used. I already take enough medicine, to have to remember taking the pill, I love it, couldn't have asked for anything better.

Before I was on the pill, I kept forgetting to take it every day at the same time (college/work/sleep) I had to tell him that we can't or use another method. I was honest with him. But now we don't have to worry anymore (I have been dating my boyfried for three years)
