I have nasal congestion due to seasonal flue. No runny nose but ab locked nose. Xylometazoline nasal spray open up my nose within 5 mins. I m using it once at bedtime.

Please do not use this medication. It is very addicting if you use past the three days and the medical community will not tell you this... though some pharmacists are now starting to suspect this should be a controlled access med if only to track its overuse. I have been on this type of drug for decades and now never get off it. It has changed how my sinuses and nose works, and it is the only thing that will now open my nasal passages. I have tried many times to quit but even after 2 weeks my nose will not return to normal, so I go back on it. The pharmacists say there is no other medication that will help me wean off this horrible stuff, but they also say they noticed that the sales of these types of meds are far higher than probably needed. I have had atleast one of my nostril blocked all the time for last 15 years. Tried many anti allergic medicine and sprays but none worked until I found this solution 4 days ago. First dose was a magic. So I started to ise it BD as doctor prescribed I feel like in heavens both my nostrils are open unless I miss my spray. But now I have learned that it is a temporary solution and I cannot use it for more than three days :( but I would definitely recommend it
