I had thick, yellow and black nails for years but was reluctant to take the medication due to cost and possible side effects. When it infected my right thumb I decided to take the risk and AM DELIGHTED that I did. The generic version is very affordable and I had no side effects what so ever. I also had thick cracked heals. Two years later I still have healthy feet and nails and can now wear sa...

So far, two weeks into the dosage, I am not experiencing any dramatic side affects... at l thought I wasn't. After reading the reviews, I believe that the knee and elbow joint issues I am having are related to this drug. Yesterday I notices that in the evening I get very achy & uncomfortable sensations in these joints. Can't get comfortable, can't relax or sit still. I feel like i need to "move" those joints to ease the uncomfortableness. Not sure if it is the drug - but interesting that this has never happened before. Again today (this evening) I am starting to to get those achy feelings again. I will continue to take the required dose to completion unless there is unbearable pain.Read More Read Less

I was on this med for about 5 months and my toenail is about 80% clear. I stopped at 5 months due to joint pain and stiffness in my neck. I had very restricted range of motion in my neck. I hope the toenail continues to improve. I do not plan to get back on it due to the neck pain.

I rated the effectivness at a 4 for now. I am one week from finishing a 3 month perscription. Overall I have experienced the metal taste in my mouth but have been able to cope with it. I suck on a lot of lifesavers. So far my toenails are looking great about half way up the nail. I have experienced some additional joint pain and fatigue lately but can't be sure it's from the drug. I believe I will have to wait some time longer to see the full result. One of the other benifits is that before I started treatment my feet were so dry they would catch on my socks when I put them on. Since starting this treatment my feet are pretty smooth. I am hoping this lasts. Besides the toe nails, I didn't want to show my feet because they wee so dry. I am looking forward to being able to go barefooted and not be so self concious about it.Read More Read Less

I've been taking this medication since Jan. 7th and I'll be done April 7th. Prior to taking this medication, my skin on my toes would peel badly, and bump up and blister. Since I've taken the medication that pain has stopped. The medication has a horrible after taste. I've noticed a difference in my toe nails, considering I've had this fungus for 10yrs and finally found a treatment that works. I'll know for sure the final result once the medication is complete and my toe nail finishes growing back in. So far I'm pleased but I do feel light-head occassionally and have a loss of appetite, can't say that it's the medication that's causing it.Read More Read Less

The first day I was fine. By the 3rd day, I was in extreme pain in my stomach. On the 4th day, my liver was so inflammed and I was in such pain, I had to stop taking the medication right away. I will never take this again. Never! I will use the topical solution.

While I used this drug, the skin on my hands defoliated and became painful with infections on the raw skin. As soon as I stopped using it, the problem disappeared. I was switched to this drug after a similar drug failed to stop or correct a problem of fungal infection under my toenail. I'd rather have the toenail rmoved than go back to this drug.

The medicine was great. The problem was the Doctor. She would only prescribe it for 3 months. The minute the prescription ran out, the fungus came back and got worse. Now the Doctor put me on Itraconazole - and I have no signs it's working.

I have been on medication 1 month. Have had toenail fungus for 30+ years. I got 3 month supply from Kroger for $10.00. I also, quit all alcohol and am eating a yogurt everyday to put the "good" bacteria back into my system, since the terbinafine kills all bacteria - goog and bad

I am taking this medication for a rash that I was told was a form of yeast on my skin. I did not see that as one of the uses. Has anyone else heard of this? Also, I saw that some had a metallic taste in their mouth. I have that too but with a very coated tongue sometimes. Is anyone else having this? I only have 1 more day of a 2 week prescription to go.

No side affects that I can tell of related without a doubt from this medication. I am seeing some improvement, though I do relize it will take some time, due to the spead that new nail and nail tissue comes in. I am on week 3 of 6.

About 5 weeks into treatment I got a terrible, itchy rash on my hands that first spread to my arms then to my neck and face. It took about 2 more weeks to discover it was this medication. My doctor didn't even think it was! Thank God for tenacious husbands, the internet and pharmacists who are willing to take time with you! If I ever have to take it again, my pharmacist has advised to NEVER take more than a month at a time. Take it for three non-consecutive months.

I have been on Terbinafine 250mg for 30 days. On the 28th day, itching and swelling of my hands and feet occured. By the 30th day, my legs, arms, feet, & hands were itching and burning. My legs looked like I had sunburn. I discontinued use. I do not know the effectiveness of this medication because I didn't take it for the recommended time of 90 days.
