I was given this by my doctor and tried to find the ingredients on the internet. I found it suspicious that the vitamin was red and I do know there are a lot of vitamins out there which use dangerous chemicals in their shell-casings. I will be re-starting this Daily-Vite today, and am contented with it's previous and currently proven reliability, consistency, efficacy, and safety. This is a life-saving vitamin when dealing with nutrient deficiencies from a variety of sources including, but not limited to, anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders, pregnancy, and post-partum complications.

It was not easy to find what exactly was in the vitamin or what the other active/inactive ingredients are either. Magnesium stearate is a commonly used and potentially harmful additive found in many supplements. Magnesium stearate can cause possible harm to your intestine, possibly even preventing the proper absorption of nutrients. Also, some of these artificial colors are derived from toxic coal tar! The other dangerous element that could be in them is titanium dioxide (used in some cheeses for color). Titanium dioxide can lead to problems with the immune function in the body. I've learned this vitamin merely helps if you are missing the vitamins it provides but this tablet does not actually give enough of the minerals to be a replacement for real good proper dieting.Read More Read Less
