My question to you is why can we no longer find this medication? The dose I have been taking for years is Bumex 1mg and i've searched everywhere and it can't be located. can you tell me why it's not being found anywhere?

My husband was prescribed Bumex 8 weeks ago to address edema. After 6 days on this drug he began having convulsive-like tremors at night. These went on all night and neither of us got any sleep for several nights. We experimented by having him skip the drug one morning. No shakes that night. He tried the drug again the next morning. Tremors that night, and so on. He has not taken it for seven days now and finally has had 2 good nights in a row. The cardiologist has switched him to another diuretic, but we are waiting a couple more days to start it.Read More Read Less

I started out on Lasix(furosemide) but all that seemed to do was move the fluid into my legs. The Bumex helps me to get rid of the fluid, and wihtout the dizziness. I have been on it for 2 weeks, and have shed approx 10lbs of fluid. Feeling much better.

Effective 80% of time. Frequent urination that occurs is somewhat bothersome.

I was given Bumex in the hospital thru an IV. It worked good but the progressive muscle pain in every part of my body was almost unbearable at times. I could hardly make it to the bathroom because of the leg pain which caused a whole new set of issues. Had to take pain pills to counteract the + effects of the diuretic effects. Not sure if this will continue if I get off the IV and change to oral at home. I HOPE not. I have living to do and don't want to be saddled with "one more thing".

I took it for many years, I have been changed to Lasex and it dosen't work as good as the Bumex. I am going to see if my Doctor will put me back on it. Because I swell every day real bad when the weather is warm, even worse when it's real hot.

I've been taking this a longtime now. Am starting to have potassium problems. I take alot - I think - 4 10 meq per day. Even with that much I'm having symptoms of K-8 deficiency & that's not fun.Don't know for sure what we're going to do. Maybe just more K-8, cuz this stuff works.

Just don't take before a long car ride or activity where you can't stop frequently. You will have to take lots of trips to the bathroom. I just wait till I'm at my destination.
