Starting BP was 180/110 at times. Was started on metoprolol which was still giving me readings up around 160/100. I was switched to Irbesartan a few months ago and it's been very effective on its own. I get readings around 110/68 and have had no side effects. I am currently on the highest dosage but my readings are low enough, I'll be starting to cut it in half.

Quickly brought BP down, have cut pill into three and BP is 125/80,I am 71. HOWEVER,I am having severe discomfort with burning sensations in arms and chest, weird feelings, like skin on fire, have lost lots of energy. Am meeting with the Specialist to discuss, maybe I can go off meds totally?? Three Months on.

Since I started to take this medication I now have cramps in my hands, legs and feet. They hurt so bad they stop me in my tracks and keep me up at night.

Light-headedness, muscle aching, exhaustion, increased coughing (I do have asthma)) -- to the point where it began affecting my job. It did work to decrease my BP, though, but the side-effects were very bad for me.

Has not lowered my BP at all and noticed my pulse rate is much lower. Continue to have headaches with this med which will not allow my BP to cease. Only been taking it for a week, was trying to give it time to get into my system.

Expensive but works very well. Generic is relativly new so I am hopping the cost will come down soon? I have been using Irbesartan for A few years now and other than the price I highly recommend it.

This drug of 150 mg did not lower my bp. Another doctor told me to take 2 150 mg pills. Went back to cardiologist and bp keeps getting higher. Cardio dr put me on Spiroloctane 25mg and now I get headaches so bad. Dr is out til 2013 and office is skeleton and can get no information. Im changing cardio doctors today. Have an appt for this Friday the 28th.Thank Goodness! Just read these two drugs not work together well, can cause hyperkalmia? or high potassium levels. I am 69 years old
