Just because I did read so many 'bad' reviews when I started Sertraline.. I feel I owe the world my positive experience : ) My day to day life has changed from a constant battle to a breeze. Now I finally feel my normal self again, I realise how anxious and depressed I was. I am a intelligent high functioning person that still got by on shear will power. I have been taking it 2 months and only ...

This drug has been a lifesaver for me. I have been taking it over eight years and it has really helped with depression, anxiety, mood and energy. I don't know what I would do without it. If I miss more than a couple of weeks dose, I can feel my mood getting bitchy. But as long as I am on it, Life is so much easier tho handle.

Back in 1994, only ONE PILL of Zoloft created a 3-day living nightmare for me. First hour: onset of tremors and fear. Second hour: nausea, panic. By the fourth hour, (I was 19 at the time) I was staying at my father's home. I couldn't sleep. Roughly around midnight, something snapped in my head. I lost my sense of identity. I didn't know who I was, where I was, etc. I used logic to get help: Assuming I was in a living room with a TV on and it was midnight, the owner(s) of the house would most likely be upstairs sleeping. I went to the first door (luckily my father's bedroom) and knocked. When he answered, I distinctly remember saying, "Excuse me Sir, but I don't know who I am, where I am, or how I got here, but I'm scared." Immediately he got up, took me down to the living room and he tried talking to me. By 6am, I started shaking and couldn't stop touching my face/forehead/head (sense of connectivity through anxiety situations). Father called hospital and doctor. They said there was nothing to do but stop any further usage, and wait it out. By 9am, I regained my identity, but had horrible diarhea and tremors and panic. That morning and afternoon, I felt I would never feel happiness again and said, "Now I understand why people commit suicide. If they felt like they would never feel another moment of happiness again, it makes sense." I distinctly remember I asked if I could have a box of Kleenex and sit on the front porch (summertime) and I cried unexplainably for 6 HOURS NON-STOP! It took 3 days before I felt it was out of my system. I felt as though certain "doors inside the innermost parts of my brain were unlocked and opened; doors that were never meant to be opened. Ever." I've never been the same since that paradoxical reaction from that ONE SINGLE PILL. I never will willingly take an anti-depressant again. My treatment for GAD since 1995 has been Librium when I wake up and Propranolol (for its beta-blocking properties) 20mg every 4 or 5 hours.Read More Read Less

I took Zoloft for about 2 yrs. Was fairly satisfied with the outcome, I did gain weight, and when I was uped to highest recommended dose, I started getting "zings" in my head.

Has been good for my lethargy. Beenstable for 4 years. Can be difficult to sleep at night, so I take it in the morning and supplement with a low dose of Pamelor which helps me sleep. Definitely worth trying, although raise doseage very sparingly.

This was just what I needed for my anxiety, right now I am trying a higher dose and we will see how that works...I am experiencing some of the side effects, such as nausea and loss of appitite, but hey it may aid in weight loss which isn't that bad

This medicine was exactly what my brain needed for my severe OCD. In about 3 to 4 months I went from a slave of OCD to basically my healthy self. I've been highly "normal" for two and a half years. Thank you to the men and women who created this drug. By the way, the side effects for me were minimal and short lasting [loose stools].

I've been on many meds and for a while Zoloft was added to my medication-cocktail in addition to Wellbutrin and other classes of meds. It was a helpful drug but I eventually went off of it because of the sexual side effects. Several months ago my son, almost 12, was put on it and has had excellent results and without any side effects.
