Just because I did read so many 'bad' reviews when I started Sertraline.. I feel I owe the world my positive experience : ) My day to day life has changed from a constant battle to a breeze. Now I finally feel my normal self again, I realise how anxious and depressed I was. I am a intelligent high functioning person that still got by on shear will power. I have been taking it 2 months and only ...

Took Zoloft for 6 weeks to treat depression. Works well for the depression, was able to take away that crippling weight. The first few weeks were weird. It was almost like I couldn't feel anything even though I could understand and comprehend how I should be feeling. Major side effect, I lost sexual satisfaction and could not achieve orgasm (trust me, me and my spouse tried).

My 19-year old son was given Zoloft and it caused suicidal thoughts. I would not recommend this drug for a young adult

I have been on Zoloft for around 6 weeks. It has worked fairly well for me, yet I have had a few side effects. To be fair, I am also on 3 other medications. Yet, I experienced worsening aggression and agitation within the first month of taking this medication. I feel so much better now, though. If you have an active sex life, I would like to mention that I have also had a decreased libido and delayed orgasms. If you are just starting Zoloft, I hope all goes well, and good luck!

Don't take zoloft if you are over age 50. It left me in a wheel chair for a year with 20 bone fractures. I lost my job, home and family. Also, food and pills get stuck when trying to swallow. Insomnia, rage, personality change, anxiety, phobia and intense feelings of panic. It's been years and I still live with it daily.

I have been on this for 3 years and I can say it helped for about a year and half before I started to feel the same way I was before. My anxiety, OCD, And depression are all pretty much back full throttle again. This medication is also really hard to get off of and every doctor I have been to seems so hesitant to take me off of it and just keep giving me other medications with it in hopes it will get better but it doesn't. I think theres much better medications out there for OCD than zoloft. If you want to feel good for about a year or so this is good but be prepared for when it starts to wear off because the withdrawals and the struggle of getting off of it is so so so so annoying but this is just my experience. If you feel like it's stopped working don't let your doctors keep adding more medications be stern and say no I want to get off this medication and try something entirely new. Read More Read Less

I started taking Zoloft about 4 weeks ago and I thought that I was working really well but my kids mentioned me forgetting things which could be because I have Celiac disease so I paid it no mind but I lost what I assume was hours last night. I woke up this morning half naked and couldn’t remember going to bed, changing my clothes, if I showered, things were in places that I can’t remember putting them and I was alone in a hotel room so it had to be me. I’ve been trying to jog my own memory all day but nothing is coming back. I can’t remember anything after around 8:30pm but I don’t know how much time was lost because I don’t know when I went to bed. Read More Read Less

I went to my GP 12 months after the suicide of my 13 year old daughter. I was dealing with catastrophic and smothering grief. Part of this was my temper was getting shorter...and shorter....and shorter. The smallest things would set me off. I asked my GP if there was anything he thought might help and he said " you are not depressed....you are grieving" So he prescribed 50mg Zoloft. I filled the scrip and had the medicine sitting for a few weeks in the cupboard. I wanted to do some research first . TBH i saw the majority of reviews online youtube google etc being so negative and it almost turned me off. I had never been on meds my entire life. 55 yr old Aussie male. Can handle it all right ? Anyways....on Xmas night 2022 i started Zoloft and I am now on 150mg. I have suffered 0 side effects. The biggest benefit for me is it has just completely softened the crippling grief attacks I was experiencing randomly. No more rivers of tears and screaming. It has also helped with my shortening temper. I am very thankful I took the leap of faith. No idea how long i will be on it but for now.....it is my freind.Read More Read Less

This was horrible! I felt like a zombie ALL the time, was sleepy ALL the time, I didn’t feel like I was in reality. I was always out of it and tired. Had no emotions, not in a good way. Had trouble even genuinely laughing. Memory issues. I couldn’t even think of regular words I would normally use in a sentence. Don’t do it! It’s poison!

Started taking this 2 years ago when I had anxiety and depression. At first I thought it was helping me, but after a few months I realized it was making me feel worse. But I would go back and forth thinking it was helping and thinking it wasn't. Now 2 years later I got off it on my own. I feel so much better everyday. I feel like myself again. These meds make you not want sex. Ruin your life and relationships. Wish I would have got off it sooner. Now I can see clearly and my mind is not so negative. Be careful taking this. It's only for a few amount of people in the world but for most it makes you feel worse without you realizing it. Try something else first.Read More Read Less

The worst part is the first 1-4 weeks. You don't know how you are going to do it, and you also don't know how life can turn around after feeling that way. For me, it was physical anxiety symtoms that lasted almost all of the time. I also had issues with insomnia. I noticed small changes that lead to week 5, and then it was like a flip switched. If you are struggling, and are scared to start this med, just know that the side effects are entirely worth the end result. Please trust the process.

Sertraline has been an absolute miracle! I had such bad anxiety, I'd not leave my house other than work for years, not even the supermarket. I'd have racing thoughts and intrusive thoughts all the time. The beginning wasn't very easy. Took a month off, stopped smoking and drinking at the same time as starting the medication. The combination of the 3 (sertraline, and stopping ciggies and bevvies) has made me feel sooo much better. And I'm finally functioning like a proper human being, going shopping, chatting (a lot) , and in general just feeling like myself. Still get upset about things, liked everyone, but do not exaggerate. I was in a dark place, and I'm very grateful for this medication. Stick with it, it might feel like it's not working, and when you realise, it just does. Read More Read Less

I have been on Zoloft for 11weeks and it has helped tremendously. I’m going through a bad episode of anxiety right now because of all the lifestyle changes that I’m going through. My nurse practitioner raised me from 150mg to 200mg and I start today. I will keep you posted on how well it works.

I started take Zoloft after my insurance would no longer cover Viibryd. After just 2-3 days, I became severely depressed, crying all day, and had suicidal thoughts. My doctor increased my dosage from 50mg to 100mg. This did not help, and made me extremely worse. I took zoloft for 1 week in total, and went back on Viibryd as I can get it with good rx at a reasonable cost. I feel so much better now. I will never take zoloft again in my life, and do not even want it in my house. It did NOT work for me, and I want people to be aware of worsening depression with/without suicidal thoughts. I was prescribed Zoloft 4 months ago with a starting dose of 25mg and incrementing by 25mg to reach 150mg after around 8 weeks.. I started to feel some effect after 6weeks (it was a long time, but I was consistent). Upping to 150mg was especially difficult as I had nausea and trembling almost for a month. I was in a psychiatric hospital in between, and ws taking lamotrigine, trazodone, delorazepan (and other...). After 4 months now I feel back to my normal mood, but it has been a difficult drug. Also recently I missed a dose for 1 day, and was feeling disoriented and vomiting. Read More Read Less

Hello, I told myself when I was better I’d write a review because I came on here everyday looking for reassurance. I’ve always suffered from anxiety but something happened where I just really fell apart.. couldn’t leave my couch or take care of my family and was feeling just out of it and was stuck feeling like I was in a dream (depersonalizations-derealization disorder). I went to the doctor and she suggested I start Zoloft .25mg and worked my way up to 100mg. It’s been a journey to say the least. The side effects really got to me and it does get worse before it gets better. It made my anxiety worse when I started. I was also really nauseous. It does go away so push through. I finally feel back to myself. I still have my moments but I am dealing a lot better. I am now diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I truly thought I was loosing my mind and myself, and thought I’d never get better. It took me 10 weeks to feel like myself again. I was really scared but don’t give up! Read More Read Less

I have been on sertraline for six months. I started on 50 mg increase to 100 mg then 150. mg I could not tolerate this amount I had trembling and stuttering it did not help my panic attacks so the medication was put down to 100 mg a few days ago I past blood clots and bright blood I was told to discontinue straight away so am left with all the withdrawal symptoms. I now have to take iron tablets because I am anaemic and feel worse then ever

Turned me into a zombie plus had side effects first two weeks (stomach hurts increased depression) And everyone around me noticed. I stopped and switched to Seroxat/ best decision ever- no serious side effects mood increase and energy, I am able once again to do activitities outside my job and stopped catostrophizing every single event in my life. Everyone is different- try both and see what works. Don’t stay in the pain??

This was a pretty good medication at first, I felt pretty at ease and mediocre. I felt at ease and mediocre. eventually it stopped working and made things 10x worse. My irritability was off the walls, it took me twice as much time to get up for activities and of course my suicidal ideation had gotten way worse. I had to be hospitalized for these reasons. Would NOT recommend to anyone.
