Effective relief of painful gas symptoms; even after abdominal surgery (eg; hystorectomy, c-section, gallbladder). Many MD's overlook it's post-op benefits! (MSO4 doesn't resolve post-op gas pains!) Effective when used has directed and followed by 6-8 oz. glass of water. I am R.N., use it PRN. Prefer to gel-caps has opposed to chewables.

This drug further aggravated the problem. Check Wikipeida, this product is used in manufacturing chewing gum, it gathers small bubbles into one big bubble for removal. This is exactly what happened in my stomach, one large bubble caused tummy aches. Please find the cause of what's causing the gas first instead of self treatments. My Gastrologist found a serious problem in my lower part of stomach....

Works great for gas, but gave me terrible palpitations for two weeks after taking one pill! I've never had heart arrthymias before and tried this drug x 2 to see if I got the same issue again. Yep, sure did. It was miserable on both occasions and resolved after 10days- 14 days after taking it. Just be aware that is is a potential, apparently not very common, but does happen. I'm going to have to find something else.

Over the counter and prescription laxatives weren’t really helping with what I thought was constipation. I knew I had bloating so I tried simethecone with laxatives. I soon realized that large gas bubbles were making me constipated. Simethecone makes large gas bubbles smaller so that the gas bubbles travel through my intestines easier. I no longer have to take laxatives regularly. I take simethecone 125mg twice a day and it has been working great.

I had stomach issues from ibuprofen use for only 2 weeks. My stomach must have been damaged and created acid reflux. Family doctor put me on Pantraprozole a medicine to stop stomach acid so the stomach could heal properly. The Pantraprozole worked after 2 weeks. However, the side effect of Pantraprozole is bloating and trapped wind. So, was dealing with trapped gas in my chest and diaphragm area for two weeks. Hard to get a full breath and needed to walk a lot to get some chest comfort. I went to my local pharmacy and the Pharmacist prescribed OVOL right away. I took only one chewable capsule and all the gas bubbles in my chest went away in 5 minutes. I cannot believe it! Its always good to receive a second opinion, as I spoke of this to my Family Physician but the Pharmacist knew right away how to cure it when I mentioned Ibuprofen side-effects. I highly recommend OVAL for uncomfortable trapped wind/ gas and bloating.Read More Read Less

Be wary of the other ingredients sometimes included with this product. I picked up one brand that contained sorbitol A Laxative / FDA Approved sweetener that some people are very sensitive. Helps with Gas, bloating, and abdominal distension and relieves some of the pain associated with them.

I get Tachycardia. Don't know why this works to stop it, but believe the built up gas actually causes pressure on the Vagus nerve. I never leave home without it. (I'm lactose intolerant and sometimes food has hidden milk solids causing gas.) BTW my bottle says to chew, not swallow whole as mentioned in this article.

I have a tendency to overeat while I'm on my period and I get painful gas that won't go away. The drug works but to get the gas removed is to burp. The problem is I normally get gas at night and I'm up belching for at least and hour or so. It's effective but too effective to some degree.

Periodically, I will have gas pains/excessive gassiness from beans and the like. This drug addresses the pains very quickly even though it is oral. Also decreases excessive flatulence without causing the need to use the restroom. I have seen success with this drug since I was a teenager.

I Had intentional cancer and surgery which left me bloated and in extreme pain. 180mg took care of the gas pain. My sister, a nurse brought me the simethicone when I came home. I was in the hospital 8 days and was in pain the whole time. The hospital should have used simethicone but did not.

I seem to have episodes of diarrhea within 2 hours of taking even 1 pill. I am looking into side effects to see if that is listed as one of them.

using this for my 6 week old infant and it is ok. ironically she has been constipated since we started using it. don't know if it's cuz of the drops, a switch in formula. still trying to figure that out. it makes my baby burp very well and she does seem less fussy after taking the gas drops. we use them about 8 times a day now. she is mostly breastfed with some supplementing with Enfamil Gentlease at night.
