I really liked this medicene when I was first put on it. But now Im dealing with severe bone deteration and my teeth are literally breaking off. It controls asthma very well but the side effects are not worth it. If you must take this have your Dr. put you on one of the osteoperosis drugs to keep your bones strong(if you have heart problems then at least take extra calcium) I was not told any of t...

Advair diskjet original saved my life as it has helped me and reduced emergency room hospitalization. The generic sucks and has caused shortness of breath and heart palpitations that I didn’t have . I pay into United health care nyship and have requested twice by myself and doctors in writing to approve medication which they haven’t. This testimony states just in case my heath detioates, I will need an attorney to demand my COPD advair diskjet for proper medical care .

I have late onset asthma. The 1st time I took Advair I was hoarse and had a slight cough. I stopped taking it and started Breo which worked great however BCBS has increased my copay to 250.00 for a 90 day supply. Until I can find an alternative, I decided to take the rest of the Advair I had on hand. I now have: swollen glands, chest congestion, sore throat, hoarseness tight esophagus, and a slight cough. It actually took about a week or 2 for the side effects to be felt. I even had chills the other day which is a side effect. I am immediately stopping this med AGAIN and will have to budget in the BREO I guess. Big Pharma ought to be ashamed of the price of drugs these days. Read More Read Less

Was on diskus 100/50 for about a year for reactive airway disease. I couldn't go anywhere without wheezing ...really sucked! My lungs were in bad shape and needed time to heal. Started off with 250/50 but was getting too many infections, then dialed it back to 100/50 twice a day for about year - sweet spot. Eliminated the need for albuterol. After about a year, I realized I didn't need it anymore. However, my advice to anyone using it is to do not quit cold turkey. Taper off the drug slowly otherwise you'll regret it.Read More Read Less

ADvair GENERIC is extremely bad. It makes cough through the night when I use the generic. I suggest to people with ASTHMA not using the generic. It does not help to reduce the sympton but it makes people breathless.

Was switched from a flovent-type inhaler to Advair Discus. Received no instruction on how to use it, and I could not tell if I was inhaling any medication. My asthma was well controlled before and after a few weeks I told the doctor it was a total failure because I could not tell if I was getting any medication, and he agreed to return me to the flovent inhaler. I considered it a failure because it was hard to use and no instructions were given.

I used this medication for almost a year and it worked great for my asthma. I was surprised when I got thrush even though I rinse my mouth after every use. I tried a few other meds and came back to advair because it worked the best for my asthma. On my second round, I found a lot more mouth irritation and throat discomfort. This only made me fears of developing thrush again worse. I’m not sure if I will continue.

I have experienced persistent hoarseness EVERY SINGLE TIME, that l have been prescribed this drug. Huge inconvenience! It reduces the need for the rescue inhaler. However --- a month into taking it, l have started to have some sporadic, short, stabbing chest pains. I also experience muscle cramps in the calf's and feet ( strange). Will call my Dr to evaluate this chest pain. Not really a fan. The Diskus is $10 copay with insurance. Dr. Switched me to the HFA to see if the use of a spacer would decrease the hoarseness ---- it did NOT. And the hfa is $75/ month with insurance!Read More Read Less

The container for this inhaler is horrible, is too complicated to use, but the "medicine" itself is horrifying, it causes more problems with health than you had before. This thing needs to be prohibited !

I've been using Advair 500 for about ten years. It is so effective you would never know I had asthma. I do not use anything else for my asthma. I don't squeak or make other breathing noises. However, I have tried other similar drugs as a way to reduce cost and after a month or two I start squeaking. I have since returned to using Advair 500.

Advair has taken away my quality of life. I had no reason to doubt this drug because my doctor had prescribed it for me. The symptoms are awful. I feel tired all of the time, very dry mouth, depressed and my voice is hoarse. with respect Lea

Advair is a horrible medicine. I went to Dr because I was suffering from very bad asthma attacks. I started the advair and within 5 days I felt like I was dying. I suffered a fever of 102 for 5 days. I suffered a very bad cough. I suffered from severe weakness. I took my self off and my throat my sinuses my health is so much better. While on it I needed a prednisone shot. It almost killed me. I feel sorry for anyone who has their children on this or elderly on it. We all need to let attorney general know about this medicine. Read More Read Less

I have been using Advair for a couple of months and I have a problem with the container that I am not sure that the medication works. The inhaler hole gets clogged and I have to use a pin to unplug it. Is this normal?

I have had asthma since childhood. I have numerous triggers, especially pollen, mold and other unavoidable irritants plus unbelievably bad GERD. I was miserable frequently and hospitalized on occasion. I terrified my husband and son once when on vacation awaking with symptoms so bad I coughed myself out of air and passed out. a few months later I was sent to an allergist. I could not complete breathing tests due to my symptoms. I has rescue inhalers everywhere. Kitchen, bedroom, desk at work, and in my handbag. I never went anywhere without at least one or two. The allergist prescribed Advair 250/50 and upon starting it I have not had ANY asthma symptoms. No wheezing, nothing. This stuff rocks! I can exercise, love on my dogs, do housework, even clean the Cockatoo cage without any wheezing. I even got a nasty case of pneumonia about 12 years ago and never had asthma issues. Spent a week in the hospital kicking the nasty strep pneumonia that tried to kill me but NO ASTHMA SYMPTOMS. I LOVE ADVAIR. It gave me my life back.Read More Read Less

This drug stops asthma. I have stopped using this medication each time my symptoms got better. I thought I could watch my triggers and move on with my life without asthmatic complications. The fact is I cant. I have asthma. Seasons, allergies, and specific triggers (sneezing believe it or not) get stronger and stronger. My rescue inhaler becomes less and less effective. When I sneeze my asthma attacks come on strong. It might not sound crazy but they are almost 911 worthy. There is no recovery. The only thing that can help me is a full albuterol nebulizer treatment. My proair only kicks in after 30 puffs. And even after that, I need to puff 2 - 4 times after coughing up mucus. Fact is...... GSK should be the hero to Asthmatics and make this medication affordable. There is no doubt that if they made this medication more affordable they could reach more people and sell more. Or..... they could just save lives. Without this drug, I would suffocate to death. I think there is a moral weight here that reigns above all. Read More Read Less

Went from 500 to 250 to 100, but still caused thick mucus and regular hoarseness. Backed-off the 2 puffs daily to 2 puffs weekly and showed immediate improvement.
