I use this medication for Trigeminal Neuralgia treatment. I've had numerous surgeries and take other medications to help manage the pain. I haven't been taking Qulipta for very long, but I have noticed some relief in my daily pain attacks. I have fewer pain attacks than usual.

Migraine sufferer for over 50 yrs. I deal with headaches on a daily basis! The migraines run my life and always have. The drug is great but who can afford the cost ? Not me ! Such a wonderful mediation but only for the rich and the insured I guess .

Minor constipation is the only side effect I’ve noticed, with fantastic reduction in migraines from 9/month “lost days” to 1 or two a year. Been on it for nearly two years. Game changer for me.

It works great to reduce my frequent episodic migraines but jaw pain that gets in my temples and gives me headackes. Not sure why. It's still better than a migraine.

Thought this might be my way to get off of Topamax. I was wrong. It’s easy to take and it did lessen headaches for the first couple of weeks, but by week three was I right back at normal rate of rescue with Rizatriptan. Additionally, I had gained 8 pounds and that was taking milk of magnesia and Miralax so that there couldn’t be much left in me. Had no appetite, yet bloated up. My iPhone/Apple Watch shows my HR was also higher during the days I was taking it and I definitely felt more anxious. I get pharma companies want to make their money, but something feels shady about this new class of drugs and how it wrecks some of us who clearly weren’t in their studies.Read More Read Less

I have migraines since I was 8 years old, now I am in my 50th. I had headaches everyday. My headaches are migraines, tension and visual auras. Usually when I have visual aura I don't feel pain. After I start taking Qulipta my headaches stop, but in 15 days I had 4 visual aura, before I had one every 2 to 3 months. Visual auras now are more frequent than before. I don't see anyone mention it, I wonder if I am the only one?

Have had migraines for 47 years...tried everything. So I have been on Qulipta for 3 weeks and I cannot go #2. No matter what laxative I take. Will it get better?

I know migraine treatment is a lot of finding what, actually will treat and help your specific migraine. I have tried many, many treatments. Qulipta works for me - like really, really works. It has changed my life. I was seriously considering going on disability because of my frequency of migraines and headache days (22+ a month) and trying so hard to hold down my job. 1st month in I’m down to 7 headaches and 2 migraine days. I wake up for the first time in years without a headache and this is after years of having a headache every single morning sometimes mild to sometimes (15 days a month) major, horrible, nauseating throbbing headaches. Which would begin my morning struggle to keep my medication down (zofran and maxalt melt) so I can continue with my day and go to work. I wake up now and I don’t have an headache at all and it just blows me away. I haven’t felt this way in YEARS. I’m feeling like I’m getting my life back. I’m so thankful ??. Read More Read Less

This is my first 1 star review for something that works great. The 1 star is because qulipta leaders are absolute scumbags. I have great insurance that pays for a large portion of this medication, often times I have a zero dollar cost for maintenance meds. I was given a savings card that my first 3 months was $0. To my surprise on my refill it’s almost $800!!!! $3200 a year!!! The pharmacist “I’m sorry, this happens a lot. I wish we didn’t have it” My doctor “I no longer promote this med, I only speak about it if a patient inquires”! There is no generic pill available yet, so they have this window to be absolute pigs. Qulipta has been an absolute life-changer for me! I'm 50yo and have suffered from migraines since I was 15yo. (And unfortunately my now 14yo son seems to be following in my genetic footsteps.) Up until perimenopause, the migraines were isolated to 1-2 month around my menstrual cycle. In my 40s, they became more frequent, and as I approached menopause I started to have migraines, or the constant brewing threat of a migraine coming on (sufferers will know what I mean by this), almost every single day of the week. My neurologist and cardiologist did not want me to take sumatriptan that often. So I then went on an odyssey of different migraine and anti-anxiety drugs, plus physical therapy and meditation and acupuncture. While some things would slightly and temporarily dull the pain for a day or two, nothing ever completely got rid of it. That is, until Qulipta. After the first 30mg dose, I was headache free within 24 hours. I could hardly believe it. I thankfully have almost zero side effects, just some mild tiredness (which I can manage by taking Qulipta at night). But I would happily tolerate even more noticeable side effects in exchange for being able to participate in my life as a fully functioning human being!Read More Read Less

This is a revised review that I originally wrote on 6/20/23. Originally, I tried Qulipta for 2 days but had upper abdominal pain so I stopped. For the couple of days that I took the medication, I didn’t have any s/s of headache. I couldn’t tell if it was because of the Qulipta or if I just had a brief reprieve from the 20 or so migraines that I get per month. A day or two after stopping I got back into the migraine cycle and used my usual sumatriptan to alleviate the pain. I decided to give the Qulipta another try, and said to myself if the abdominal discomfort isn’t that bad, I’d continue and hope the side effects would lessen as my body got used to it. I was also getting slight constipation while taking the Qulipta. Low and behold, these side effects have lessened to the point that they’re not bothersome anymore. Thank goodness because since taking the Qulipta now for 12 days straight, I haven’t had one headache! I think much clearer, have motivation to do things and I’m very thankful that I tried one more time. I do notice now that I’ve been taking the Qulipta daily now for a while, I get a bit of anxiety, but not bad enough to take any other medication and it seems to be lasting less and less as the days go by. So, I’m pleased with the 10mg of Qulipta that I’m currently taking. Read More Read Less

I have been tired since I started taking it but my headaches are almost non-existent so I'm willing to take that trade-off.

I am 47 years old have been suffering from severe migraines since I was 15 years old. Had a episodic seizure back in 2001, I attributed it to a migraine that I could not get rid of for days. Since then, I have been on so many migraine medications and tried different treatments. I have been on Topamax now for 21 years adjusting the dose as needed along with Axert, and Migrainal Nasal Spray. My neurologist wanted to discontinue my topamax but I refused as I was very skeptical about starting a new medication, Qulipta 60mg 1 tab qd, as my headaches have been becoming more prevalent and frequent once again and lasting for hours. I started the medication 3 weeks ago, and I have to say I have noticed such a huge relief in my migraines. No they are not gone completely but have subsided drastically in just a few weeks. The first week I had no relief at all, the nauseousness, feeling lightheaded, and the constipation was horrible but I pushed through hoping that the medication would finally kick in and give me some sort of relief. After about the 9th day, it was like a switch clicked and immediately things just started to change for the better. So far the headaches have been less but the constipation is still there, I am already on Linzess 145mcg qd, so hoping they will balance each other out at some point. Honestly, no other complaints thus far with this medication except the one day I did miss a dose and it sort of scared me because it felt like my whole head was being slammed into by a mack truck, I will not do that again! Thank you to the makers of Qulipta, not sure what’s in this medication but please do not stop making it, as it’s been a true lifesaver thus far for myself. Hoping my body doesn’t get to used to the medication so it stops working, fingers crossed!!! Hope this review helps others. Again, thank you! Read More Read Less

I have suffered from migraines since I was a child which have progressively gotten worse in time. I’m now 63, been taking sumatriptan which helps eliminate the headaches approximately 95% of the time; I break a 100mg pill into 3rds because the pharmacy will only issue 9 pills. However, I get so many headaches per month that I was told that I’m getting rebound headaches. So, I have a friend who’s been taking Qulipta and stated that the drug has helped her significantly decrease her headaches. I made an appointment with my pcp, discussed with him and he started me on the lowest dose for Qulipta of 10 mg. I took one pill per day for 2 days. I didn’t have a headache for those 2 days, but what I did get was intense upper abdominal pain just below the rib cage on the left side working towards the center. It was such discomfort that I felt if it got much worse, I’d have to go to the ER. I stopped taking the Qulipta and the pain slowly subsided. It took 2 days for the pain to be just about gone. Qulipta may help with headaches, (I can’t tell taking it for only 2 days), but what is it doing to my organs in the abdomen to have such pain? I really wish it would have worked, but due to the side effects, I can’t picture taking this medication every day for the rest of my life. Also, I never had a liver or kidney problem as it says to not take if you’ve had any problems with these organs. Read More Read Less
