Had been on Advair for 10 yrs and gladly switched 5/2019 as my out of pocket limit was going way up under new plan. Same drugs and dosage but the delivery to the system seems less effective. With Advair I could miss a dose or be a few hours late and I wouldnâ??t even notice it. Now, I need to be really careful to take it exactly 12 hrs apart as thereâ??s no margin. Also I think I have to be more c...

I have been using Advair fo years with perfect control. I haven't had to use a rescue inhaler for at least five years. During the first month on Wixela, I have had to use my rescue inhaler about 7 times, so my asthma is no longer controlled. I reviewed some of the studies, and Wixela should work, so I am surprised it hasn't worked for me, and don't know why.

Been on Advair for years started taking this medication this month and it doesnâ??t work Iâ??m not sure if itâ??s the poor design of how the medicine disperses but it doesnâ??t work. I get tight by the time for the next dose and have had to use my rescue inhaler.

Asthma not anywhere near as controlled as on Advair for previous 20 years. Supposed to be the same medication, but delivery inhaler is awkward to use and don't feel med is inhaled properly ~ it no good! I've had to use my rescue inhaler often, whereas wasn't using it at all during many years of Advair use.

It took me almost a week to figure out why, after years of side-effect-free Advair use, I was suddenly feeling nauseous for hours every morning and evening. After all, Wixela is â??exactly the sameâ?, right? WRONG. The nausea got progressively worse until I was vomiting 20 minutes after use. Of course insurance wonâ??t cover Advair. So now I get to decide if I want to feel like I have the stomach flu twice a day, or if I want to die wheezing. I am livid that this is being foisted on us. This is NOT the same drug as Advair. I will be reporting to the FDA, and doing all I can to get the insurance company to work with me. Ugh.Read More Read Less

This device is suppose to deliver a dry powder to the patient's lungs, but it doesn't. Chunks of the medicine land on the gums and tongue with little actually making into the lungs. Imagine being diabetic and paying for syringes that instead of delivering insulin into the patient's bloodstream, it shoots insulin all over the patient's skin. How this device is allowed to be prescribed as a treatment for asthma is mind boggling.

Tried wixela 100/50 to see if it was stronger than Breo. What a waste of time. After 4 days my breathing became very difficult within 1 hour of taking. Thus causing me to use the Rescue more often. Issues: Pulse rate bouncing up and down drastically, Awakening with extremely low pulse rate and oxygen level. (On oxygen at night) Going back to Breo and stay alive a little longer.

The inhaler is nowhere near effective at treating asthma or controlling. After a day of use and almost having to go the ER, contacted my doctor to get it replaced immediately and to add to Rx no generic brands. Since being put on Advair, I have never had a issue with my asthma being controlled. If you can prevent being put on this inhaler, do so, if not Iâ??m so sorry. I have so read review after review of people being switched to this generic brand and having nothing but issues while using it, and every single one has called their doctor to be switched back to Advair if possible. That says alot about this generic brand. I would give no stars if I could. Read More Read Less

frequently the inhaler is defective.it is not sending any medication and when my health suffered I finally found out why .No medication was entering my lungs. Oxygen levels went from 94 to 75 or 80 degrees.

I found myself using Ventolin daily not realizing at first Wixela wasn't working. I found my breathing was not good as if I was not using the inhaler. Finally it occurred to me Wixela isn't working. Today I went back to Advair which has always been great. I expect all will feel better shortly. I checked online and saw these reviews which mirror my experience. My pharmacy days people are not using Wixela because it's not working. Sadly my insurance will only cover party of the Advair recurrence m expense now where Wixela is free.i paid it 70.00 for the Advair. Ugh.Read More Read Less

Well controlled asthma using Avair for 3-4 years , due to insurance I was given Wixela and it is not the same. Despite it being of same ingredients, something is remarkably different, and I now need to use my rescue inhaler 2-3 times in 24 hours. Will begin the process to secure something better.

I was taking Breo, using a pharma company or PBA coupon. When the coupon was discontinued, my insurance co-pay was $85. I could not afford that co-pay. My doctor prescribed Wixela, which does not work. My breathing is labored and asthma is worse.

When the inhaler works it is fine, but recently I went for two month using Wixela twice a day. During this time I was getting weaker and my oxygen level was below 90% sometime in the 70% level. I got out my Oxyginator and used it 24/--7. I finally realized The inhalers weredefective , and There is no way of telling you are getting no med.

Mild asthma patient, with everything under control using Advair Diskus 250/50. As with others, my insurance stopped paying for the brand name and had to switch to Wixela. My symptoms went from non-existent (with Advair) to bad to worse. Stopped taking Wixela and things got better and I only had regular(!) asthma. Paid out of pocket for the Advair and everything was wonderful again. One year later- I now need a higher dosage of Advair than ever before, I will need to pay $4,000 a year for it, but it keeps me healthy. FDA should do something. Read More Read Less

I had switched to Advair 5 years ago as Ventolin was not effective anymore. Advair worked instantly and effectively opened up my airways. Pharmacy switched to supplying wixela over Advair because of costs. Ever since I started I have worse asthma than ever. Usually would only be wheezing during strenuous exercise or when sick, but now my chest is tight and wheezes more than 50% of the week. Even when I do nothing all day I can't breathe as clear as I could before. There is definitely a difference in effectiveness between Advair and this new generic version. In addition, the dispenser is hard to use and breaks easily. My last one stopped dispensing the powder and the button would refuse to slide (with more than 10 puffs remaining). Really wish I could go back to Advair.Read More Read Less

Medication doesn't seem to last as long, the inhaler is completely absurd.

My Insurance had my health provider change my prescription from Symbicort to Wixela. I went along with it because I know the cost of drugs so Insurance was trying to save. This will end up costing my insurance more as this Wixela is the worst medicine I have been given. My chest has not stopped feeling like I have an elephant on it, my breathing has been terrible and I have had 3 panic attacks due to feeling that I cannot breath. I also had headaches the whole time I was trying Wixela. I just called my health provider to alert her and am waiting news that I can go back on to my symbicort. Read More Read Less

After 15 years on Advair, one puff a day was like a cure. I switched to this generic due to the cost, and it seemed like most days it works, but sometimes it didn't. I've had to use albuterol some nights, even though the only inhaler I had was a year out of date. Toward the end of the first Wilexa inhaler, it just seemed to quit working altogether, so I dug out the instructions to see if I was doing something wrong. I discovered that you're supposed to THROW IT WAY A MONTH AFTER OPENING THE POUCH, even if you haven't used all the doses. For me, that basically DOUBLES the cost. Fortunately I had still had half of my old Advair left, because I wanted to make sure I had something if Wilexa didn't work. IT STILL WORKS FINE ALMOST THREE MONTHS AFTER OPENING.Read More Read Less

Iâ??ve been using Advair or Fluticasone/Salmeterol for over 15 years twice a day, my asthma rarely effects me and is well managed because of it. I was forced to use Wixela due to insurance reasons and after two weeks I had to stop because my breathing was so bad and I was coughing when attempting to take deep breaths. Used Good Rx for Fluticasone and within two days my breathing was back to normal but I know the steep price isnâ??t accessible for everyone

I never understood how people died from asthma until I started taking this drug when my insurance wouldnâ??t cover Advair. Iâ??m in my late 20s now and I had been taking Advair daily for at least 15 years with so much success.
