Had been on Advair for 10 yrs and gladly switched 5/2019 as my out of pocket limit was going way up under new plan. Same drugs and dosage but the delivery to the system seems less effective. With Advair I could miss a dose or be a few hours late and I wouldnâ??t even notice it. Now, I need to be really careful to take it exactly 12 hrs apart as thereâ??s no margin. Also I think I have to be more c...

I have been using Advair fo years with perfect control. I haven't had to use a rescue inhaler for at least five years. During the first month on Wixela, I have had to use my rescue inhaler about 7 times, so my asthma is no longer controlled. I reviewed some of the studies, and Wixela should work, so I am surprised it hasn't worked for me, and don't know why.

I am reporting this to the FDA for sure and everyone else should as well. This is absolutely horrible to play with peoples lives. I've had several episodes since taking Wixela. It does nothing for my asthma. If this is some sort of game they are playing to jack the price up on Advair I will be getting a lawyer.

I've been on Advair since 2003. Wixela is completely ineffective, even after doubling my dose. What a waste of time, and now my insurance wants to charge me 3x as much for Advair. Aren't these drugs supposed to go through an inordinate amount of testing before coming to market? Total junk.

As the price of Advair is now obscene, I tried the generic, Wixela. It is total crap. No relief and I'm using albuterol nebulizer twice as much. My pharmacy was not issuing a refund as the drug has been deemed "effective". Don't be like me, don't waste your money on this bad medicine.

Does not work. Had to use rescue inhaler and had to use nebulizer. Never had to use rescue inhaler or nebulizer while on Advair.

This generic is terrible, it wasn't noticeable until a couple weeks later but my chest is now constantly tight. I'm having to use my rescue inhaler daily instead of every couple of weeks. I now have to go back to my doctor and state my case so he can work with insurance on the noted changes and the dramatic difference being experienced after years of stability with advair.

THE WORSE GENERIC EVER!!!!! I had to start out this way bc I am so bothered. And I wanted to warn people. I thought it was just me. I am amazed to see how insurance companies have switched us without confirming the med works. I just decided to look up reviews and we are all saying the same thing. Are insurance companies trying to kill us off or something? I'm going to have to prove I need Advair.I really think we all need to determine to fight for our lives and complain to all that will hear. If we can get the # of Tampons changed we should be able to get our meds changed.Read More Read Less

The design of the productâ??s case makes it awkward to use. I am unable to completely seal my lips around the mouthpiece. I get the sense that most of the product is deposited at the back of my throat. If this is the case, insufficient medicine is getting to where it needs to be which could explain why Wixela seems to be less effective than Advair which I had used for years.

First off, the packaging and use is just very awkward. Terrible design. Also, this is barely touching my asthma and I’m on the strongest dose. I’ve had to use my nebulizer more than ever, and am going in to the doctor tomorrow to petition for my Advair Diskus back. That medication left me feeling like a normal person. This stuff (Wixela), just worthless. Absolutely no relief from it.

I have taken Adair for many years and it has worked wonderfully. I switched to wixela a couple months ago and immediately started having trouble with my asthma. I’m going back to Advair but it will cost me close to $200/month even with insurance.

As everyone else has said this Wilexa is not the same as Advair!!! I know the drug company says OH IT IS THE EXACT SAME !! It is not! Having a hard time breathing since on it. If I go into full Asthma attack and something bad happens I told my husband go after Welexa manufacturer!

When I was first introduced to Advair years ago, I experienced a depth of breathing and comfort I had never experienced before. I felt like I could actually breath deeply, without the subtle feelings of constriction or wheezing. I was just given Wixela as a substitute for Advair, and I have to say that I don't get that sense of getting a deep, full breath. I still feel subtle wheezing going on. Therefore, I turn to Advair again, and again my breathing and sense of comfort returns. While it is a generic, it is clearly not an equal substitute.Read More Read Less

I have been using this product for closer to two weeks now and it's caused me to have a severe cough, along with terribly severed acid reflux. Not to mention, it doesn't actually do anything to control my asthma. Such a waste of money and time.

Is nott as effective as Advair. I have to take more doses. Difficulty to sleep through the night. I am much more likely to need rescue inhaler and at risk for hospitalization.

Doesn’t work as well as Advair, experiencing symptoms that had gone away when taking Advair.

I was on Advair 100/50 for 11 years for emphysema and doing well with the exceptions of occasional seasonal upper respiratory infections. Switched to Wixela by the insurance company. Within 3 days of using it, I felt more short of breath with normal activities. Within a week had heaviness in my chest and harder to breath. Stuck it out for 1.5 months thinking I just needed to get used to the new med. Had to have my Dr. switch me back to Advair and within a few doses of the Advair, all of the symptoms I have listed disappeared. If I could give this medicine a less than 1 star rating I would. I wonder how many people had to be hospitalized after taking this medicine? The insurance companies are saving no money if people need to be hospitalized because the medicine is ineffective. Wixela is not the answer to generic Advair. It should be taken off of the market!!Read More Read Less

I started feeling the symptoms others have stated at this site. I went to doctor wondering if I had bronchitis. I felt a pressure in my chest, unable to get relief from my short acting inhaler. I felt inordinately tired, a challenge breathing on exertion. It scared me, so I researched the new medication to find many people sharing the same reaction to the new medication. I look forward to returning to my long term medication, Adair 250/50. I have discontinued this generic medication.
