I am only on my first month and it has been nice not to have had only one migraine headache in three weeks. But has anyone experienced pain like bruising on their skull? Seems like instead of a headache my head gets very sore to touch then subsides after a couple of days.

Migraines since puberty. Increased migraine activity in last 10 years. In December 2018, 17 headache days of which 10 wereigraines. Since beginning Emgality in January 2019, migraine events decreased to 1 per month and only two additional minor headache days. It’s a great experience for me.

I am a 51 year old nurse who has suffered with migraines since the age of 14. The last few years I have had a increase in frequency, duration and intensity. Migraines so painful that was have been missing days of 2-3 days of work at a time with each incident. I have been prescribed every migraine med on the market and have tried all the dietary suggestions ( avoid caffeine, chocolate etc ) all of which made no difference. I have only taken two emgality injections thus far and have had no migraines or even a common headache for 5 weeks now. I have had no side effects and am amazed at how easy this injection is to administer. This is by far the best med every created for migraine sufferers and recommend those of you who have this debilitating disorder to give it a try. O and did I mention it is FREE !!! I urge ALL of you to avoid the negative reviews of this drug; I am convinced that all negative side effects are purely psychological. People convince themselves that they're going to experience awful things. Emgality is hands-down the cleanest migraine preventative that I have tried and I have tried so much (Topamax, Amitriptyline, etc.) I have been experiencing chronic migraine since I was seventeen (I am now 22), meaning 4-5 migraines a week. My life was run by Sumatriptan, and stressing over running out of pills before my insurance would cover them. I have not taken a single dose since using Emgality. I had low expectations for this drug, but it has completely transformed my life. The injection is painless compared to the pain of a migraine; I had a friend do the starting dose for me, but I've been able to do it on my own now. Please please please try this medication if you have been suffering like me, and ignore the bad reviews. This injection is a miracle. I wish this had existed when I was a teenager! I’m on month 4 and have had no migraines (usually average 8-10 per month for 23 years). I’ve had nine headaches that were very tolerable and have only taken Excedrin 3 times (normally it was 5x’s a week. Emgality is a miracle for me!

I've taken 3 doses, one month apart. My hips and joints are killing me. I have been migraine free, however I am so uncomfortable. I was told the only side effects were regarding the injection site. That is impossible, since all drugs can have various side effects It wasn't until I read other reviews that I correlated my joint pain to this drug.

I took my loading dose 5 days ago. I have seen no improvement, actually my vestibular migraines are worse. I have been very nauseated since the injection as well. It was easy to inject though.

Since I have been using Emgality I have had 4 teeth break within 7 weeks. 3 extracted and 1 crown. Has anyone else have teeth breaking during use of Emgality?

I have had chronic migraines all my life and never have i gone this long without a migraine.. easy to inject yourself.. unfortunately bc/bs doesn't cover the $575 retail price of the epipen used for the shot but with the coupon i was given at the dr i can try it for a year..

I have had almost 3 weeks of horrible headaches since the 2 loading doses of this drug. My blood pressure has skyrocketed, heart palpitations, nausea, extreme fatigue. I’ve had 3 ER visits in a week and am on blood pressure med and narcotic pain medication. Do not take this medication!

I have been amazed at how great this medication has relieved migraines. I have had severe migraines for years with no relieve from any medication. The shots are very easy to give. I have given myself injections to treat migraines in the past that have been far more painful. I also have a couple of autoimmune diseases and the treatment for them has been in shot form. The Emgality shots have been far easier to give and far less painful. For anyone who feels the shots are hard to give, I hope they will stick with it bc self-injections do get easier over time. After taking 1st loading dose, I had absolutely no headaches at all. No side effects. Second dose dose, I experienced a couple minor headaches that a Advil helped stop. Took this dose 2 weeks ago, I am experiencing more headaches, not full blown migraines, but more headaches. Seems that maybe the 120mg might be too low. The injection is quite painful, inject in a fatty area, such as butt area, less painful. No noticeable side effects, nothing that is worse,then the migraines. I am hoping It continues to help. However , each month it seems to get a bit less effective.Read More Read Less

Went from 5-7 vestibular migraine days per week to 1. From that standpoint itâ??s great. The night after I took my 5th month shot I had heart palpitations in the middle of the night and again in the morning but none since. It scared me as Iâ??ve never had a heart issue before.

I’ve had daily migraine for 40 years. I’ve tried every drug on the market without success. I took my first loading dose 4 days and I haven’t had a migraine. It is a miracle for me and has given me my life back. I do have a few hives around my torso. A small price to pay. I’m happy and have joy that I never had since a kid. Thank you Lilly. I’m grateful.

Chronic migraine sufferer - 15 /month. This started working with 2 hours of injection. Actually aborted current migraine then I haven't had another migraine in 1 month. I will have my 2nd injection in 2 days. We'll see long-term if it continues to work. No side-effects so far.

This has really decreased my migraines in one month. Dr said it should only get better. Please try this migraine sufferers!

I have gone from 9 to 13 headache days per month to no headache days. Emgality has exceeded my expectations. For me, the only side effect has been slight redness at the injection site. I am so happy to be in control of my life again. I had tried countless other treatments with no success. This is a miracle drug. It seemed to start working almost immediately after my first loading dose. Amazing relief after years of struggling with migraine disease.
