I take this medicine once a day in the morning. I have had no accidents and only minor leakage incidents since starting the medicine. Previously I had accidents frequently when the urge to go was immediate and experienced leakage all the time. I constantly had to wear liners and when I had an immediate urge that wasn't enough. I no longer have to get up several times a night either. Previously I w...

I had a very difficult time swollowing and a parched mouth. Developed a cough from the dry mouth and throat. When working outside with 90 degree weather, I could not sweat and felt the heat from within. Think this is a sign of dehydration because it dries up all the liquids in the body. As of today I am not taking anymore. Hope to get back to normal .

I've been on this medication for about 7 years. I always joke that I'd go off my blood pressure and cholesterol meds before I'd go off this. It's saved my life. I've suffered from serious loss of bladder control when I laugh since I was 7 years old. Now that I'm 60, I also leak when I sneeze, cough or just don't get to the bathroom often enough. This drug has ended all the embarrassment and humiliation that I lived with my entire life. The only side effect I've experienced is dry mouth and I'll take that any day over having an public accident! Read More Read Less

I've been taking oxybutynin for a couple of years. It helps alot. If I forget to take it for a day or two, I really notice the difference with bladder leakage. Only time I still have problems is with golfing or other physical activities. Sometimes I'l take a double dose, when I know I'll need it.

I thought it was my other new medication (bupropion) making me have all these strange symptoms, dizziness, feeling faint, nauseated, blurry vision and general malaise until I quit taking the oxybutynin for 2 days. Wow! What a difference. Of course i still had leakage problems, but i'd rather wear a pad than have those symptoms with this drug. It just doesn't work for me at all because of the side effects. As far as it 'drying me up', yes, it worked, but it also dried up all of my mucus membranes and I couldn't even swallow food without a mouthful of water. i'm not taking this stuff any more. I'm asking my dr if there is something else that works.Read More Read Less

Had an onset of Transverse Myelitis 3 years ago leaving 1/2 my body w/ no muscle function including bladder. Acquired the inability to control my bladder. The Oxy... worked, as I took it 2 times a day. I developed a continuous UTI because of it and it never went away. I needed the med for my bladder so I only take it once at night now. the med is effective for the issue of bladder control, but the more I take it, the more UTI's I receive. Kind of a win/lose but. so I'm on the fence with any bladder assistance medication. Read More Read Less

It seems to have helped very little. Since I have been taking it I have felt "lightheaded" and dizzy. I am going to stop taking it today. I have been on the medication for two weeks.
