I take this medicine once a day in the morning. I have had no accidents and only minor leakage incidents since starting the medicine. Previously I had accidents frequently when the urge to go was immediate and experienced leakage all the time. I constantly had to wear liners and when I had an immediate urge that wasn't enough. I no longer have to get up several times a night either. Previously I would have to go about every hour all day long and couldn't hardly make the trip home from work without an accident (about an hour by the time I pickup my child at daycare). Now I go every two to three hours and have no problems riding in the car for extended periods of time. It has made normal activities much more enjoyable since I'm not constantly looking for the restroom. No side effects either. Read More Read Less

After YEARS of female incontinence, this drug has been extremely successful. Do not expect 100%, but it certainly has made a positive difference in quality of life.

This drug had almost no effect on my symptoms. Flowmax worked better, but not as good as Detrol LA.

A doctor put my 93 year old father on this. After a couple of months, he was getting terribly confused and it was thought that he had dementia. We took him off the medication and his mind cleared up in five days. Watch out for this!!!

This medication worked for me in that I can control urges to go now. I had been having trouble getting to the bathroom in time (a matter of 15 feet away!) However the side effects are killing me, so I cut the pill in half and that didn't even help!! My mouth is so dry that I can hardly swallow and many times end up gagging! My eyes hurt - are dry - and I feel like a zombie most of the time. I used to be energetic and enthusiastic, but am now lethargic and feel like I could stay in bed all day. Everything is an effort and I'm very tired and getting depressed. I finally decided to look it up and see what others had to say about the side effects. Now that I see that others are having the same reaction, I am going to quit taking them. I would rather have to keep my bedside commode for night time and wear a pad during the day than have to deal with a mouth so dry that I gag and can hardly talk and swallow than feel so sick, have my eyes hurt and be so depressed all the time. I'm quitting tonight and will write again in a week to tell how I am feeling!!Read More Read Less

I was given this RX for excessive sweating. After reading the other comments here, it sounds like I was given the wrong medication. After taking for about a week, when I got up in night to urinate, having the feeling I needed to go, I couldn't. without straining. Stopped taking right away.

no noticeable change, in fact made matters worse. It was more effort to strain to go and had a very weak stream. Within a couple days of not taking the oxybutynin there was a definate change for the better. I guess it doesnt work for everybody

My physician has been working with me for over 2 years with different medications. Following recent bladder surgery to assist with urinary control, urgency, frequency my doctor increased my dose of oxybutynin from 5 mg twice a day, to 5 mg 4 x a day. I could live with the dry mouth and eyes because the nightly trips to the bathroom dropped from 5 to 1-2 times. But with the increase in medication I began to experienced flushed skin, swelling to joints of the ankles, knees, and wrist. Also developed palpitations, dizziness and blurred vision. Yes at this increase dose the medication did control the urinary issues, but had to seek medical treatment in the emergency room. Read More Read Less
