I participated in the 2nd phase study for consecutive shots in my left knee. After conclusion of the study (May 2018) received Zilretta in both knees and just received another round this month. This is a magic bullet and absolutely relieves all okay pain for just about three months. And it’s allowed me to play tennis multiple times each week and to defer my eventual knee replacement. Amazing and a...

Fantastic pain relief! I was pain free for the first time in years! But once it wore off, the knee pain was worse than before. And what's the point, if it's only for one use?

I have been getting Zilretta shots for 2+ years. The shots help the pain for about 3 months. I am thankful for a good doctor that knows how to give the shot in the right location and I’m thankful that Medicare pays for this relief for a senior adult.

I am a 56 year-old female with osteoarthritis in both knees, and torn meniscus in both knees also. I had a scope on my right knee three years ago, which helped for a while. Now my left knee is bad so we tried the Zilltetta, and I got pain relief for only 2 1/2 weeks. It’s a very expensive injection, to only get mild relief. Very disappointed.

Had Ziretta injection for flare of OA. Had severe reaction with severe inflammatory response in the injected. So severe that I was unable to flex my knee at all & patella was unmovable. Had to go to physical therapy for several weeks & use pain medicine for several weeks. Worst experience ever after an injection.

I have been suffering from itb pain following a hip revision. My Doctor did an MRI of of knee which showed mild arthritis and partial meniscus tear. I had zero pain in my knee, but dibilitating itb pain. The injection is the worst thing I've ever experienced. My itb is now so inflamed it's affecting by back and ability to walk. Big mistake.

I got my first Zilretta shot almost 8 weeks ago. I have been getting regular cortisone shots every few months for the last couple years. They never last longer that a month or so especially if I do vigorous workouts. The last 8 weeks have been the best weeks I have had in years. After 14 knee surgeries and endless physical therapy this has really been a blessing. Hoping it continues to work up until 12 weeks.

I have moderate osteo arthritis in both knees. I got the injections done to both knees at the same office visit. It worked very well on my left knee within one week. My right knee still has some pain, but it has decreased, and it has been one month since the injections. The orthopedic Dr. who did them said that Zilretta can take up to a month to even work, and you need the injections repeated every 6 to 8 months. So one month to even work, then repeat in as little as 6 months. My cost, after my insurance paid was over $2,000.00 So, basically one grand per knee, for something that is neither a quick fix, and is not long lasting at all. I would not do injections again and would opt instead for laparoscopy surgery if available. Since osteo arthritis is degenerative, I'm sure a total knee replacement is in my future. I gave 2 stars on ease of use since the injections were painful to get. In fact, my pain initially got worse after the injections. Think twice before doing this. It's very short lived and very expensive.Read More Read Less

Left knee is bone to bone on inside. This is my 3 time to get the treatment. Works very well for 9 weeks. The tenth week a lot worse and by week 11 back to original bad pain and as bad as it ever was. Problem is Medicare will not pay except every 3 months for the injection and the Dr. will not even give an appointment for it until after the 3 months has passed. I cannot afford to pay for it as it is very expensive. While it has repeatedly worked perfectly for 10 weeks I still have to suffer for weeks to wait for medicare to pay for another injection. They need to change this and pay for it when it is needed again.Read More Read Less

67 year old male. The inside of both knees are worn out. After 1 week,of getting a shot in both knees, I felt like Superman. Walking, hiking, mountain climbing, working on and off my knees. After 4 months discomfort began to come back, after another 2 weeks, a big decline and then back to the total discomfort I had before the shot. Now at 5 months, I am looking for a doctor to give me a shot in both knees again. Hoping for the same great experience I had with the first shots. Medicare and supplement insurance paid for it in full. Read More Read Less

I have had more problems since having the injections in both knees, I had to go to my primary care doctor twice because apparently I had an allergic reaction to this drug. First my heart and swelling of my knees...then I though I had the flu but I had a flu shot and didnt have the flu...sore throat, sinus issues, rash, headache. I was worse and can barely walk sometimes...my knees lock up so I have to get up and then sit constantly. I knew after the 1st right knee was done, but my doctor insisted I do the 2nd knee even though I told him no.Read More Read Less

While my relief has been excellent; I am concerned on the cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$! As retired on SS and Medicare Advantage, I have to be financially observant on $$$$$$$. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE INJECTIONS?? Thanks for a reply!

I am super satisfied with Zilretta. I have been living with almost constant bilateral knee pain. After Zilretta, I can focus on enjoying activities like walking and fishing. However, dont expect miracles and then bad mouth the drug. If your 61years old with bone on bone OA, its a little disingenuous to expect Zilretta to join the Olympic Gymnastics team! What I love about Zilretta is I dont have any more Crushing Pain Days. I hope it helps you and your friends. Read More Read Less
