Cleared up after 2 days (will continue to use them as prescribed) but the itching the medication causes is outrageous!

did not help my condition

I have to use strong eye drops for itchy eyes daily but while using these drops I did not have to use the others drops. That was a nice benefit. These drops cleared up the pink eye in three days but my Dr told me to use them for 10 days regardless of what I thought the status was. The drops were cool feeling maybe a little bit of a sting if I were not used to it from my other drops.

Went to urgent care with a goopy pink eye -prescribed me polytrim. Two days passed using the drops (with no improvement) then my eye and left side of my face swelled up. Returned to urgent care with eye swollen shut, pink eye, and blisters, to be told that the polytrim isn't the best medicine for everyone - prescribed steroids and tobramycin drops instead. Swelling still isn't all that great but the pink eye is doing much better after two days.

Went to urgent care and received this med late on a Saturday night. Took one dose before bed. My eye was goopier in the morning, but by mid afternoon (after 3rd dose) my eye was 75% better! I am on the 3rd FULL day now, and I don't even remember I have Pink Eye most of the time. Only complaint is the incessant itchiness for 30-45 mins after I take the drops. 2 drops in my eye 4x per day is what was prescribed. Hoping I can last the full 7 days w/o gouging my eyes out.

We were prescribed the generic version of this drug (Polymyxin B) at a walk-in clinic for my son's (14 y.o.) severe conjunctivitis. He took his first dose at Noon on Saturday and religiously followed the schedule of administering one drop per eye every four hours. After 5 days when his eyes were only marginally better, I took him to his pediatrician who told us the drops we were prescribed by the walk-in clinic were "crap" and he prescribed Moxeza. My son has had only 3 doses of the new drops and his eyes are 75% better. Polytrim failed for us.Read More Read Less

Eyedrops caused a lot of itching!!!! The side effect was bad

This works great. Can be tough when trying to administer to a young child or infant.

this was used for an outer ear infection and I had swelling in both my ears, from going up in the mountains,I would gather to say that the pressure from being in the mountains caused the ears to swell and the earache to form. I was not happy using this drug, I go back to the doctors, I get alot of sinus problems and ear infections, but this has been the worse one yet. Um I was placed on the medrol 4mg 6day dose pac and that did not work either. I take up to 6 or 8 tylenol within the course of a day, and by the 8th dose it is a new day.I have an annoying hacky cough. Was placed on ceftin only 500 mg a day for 7 days. tomorrow marks day seven and it is also the day I see the doctor.Symptoms seem to get worse at night.When a person gets tired.Maybe i should of been given actual eardrop med's instead of stuff for the eye.Read More Read Less

My infection was simply resistant to Polytrim Its a good drug if it works

This is my daughters second bought of pink eye. The first time it was prescribed her symptoms were gone in hours. We did not notice any side effects. Very efficient treatment.

My pediatrician prescribed this for my 19-month-old's pink eye. It improved the condition after the first day; I found it very effective. Difficult to administer to a toddler due to the struggle and tears, but enough medication got in to do it's job. We're on day 5 now of a 7 day prescription and my son's eyes look normal, with only a very minimal amount of discharge/crustiness when he wakes up from sleep. I recommend these drops for the effective treatment of pink eye!
