I've been on Metformin & Glimepiride for 8 1/2 years. My A1c had been in the low 6's until about 2 years ago when it got to the low 7's. Nothing helped - even Levemer. My doctor added Jardiance to my scripts in Feb. Just got my 1st quarterly blood work. My A1c went from 7.2 to 6.5! My bg rarely goes over 135 unless I eat something that I shouldn't. Sometimes I go for days without going over 100. E...
I got enrolled in the savings program and it would cost me $77.00 every month, cant afford that and it is with the savings card too!! So I actually never got started on it, physician prescribed something else.

This is my second time taking jardiance, first time I took it and the issues was I stayed in the bathroom.. which was common. But I started having joint pain in my arm. Stop taking it for a days and noticed the pain stop.. so here I go a month later to try it again now I'm having joint pain in my fingers. Awful feeling. So I'm completely done with Jardiance. And it's also not safe to take if you have kidney disease. It will damage the kidneys by making it worse.

I was put on this medication because of my heart. Was taking it for a few months. I got a years infection, that went a way. I noticed that the right side lip of my vagina was swollen. It hurt for a bit but I didn't think of anything bad. Next thing I noticed the lip got bigger and bigger. Next symptom was fever. This was in June and I was freezing. Didn't feel well, went to the emergency. They looked at it and sent me to a different hospital. Dr came in and said I was having surgery in the morning. Wow, I didn't know why. I had 3 surgeries. Was in the hospital for 2 weeks. After my last surgery, the surgeon said they didn't know if I was going to survive. I read the discharge papers. I had Fourniers gangrene of the gentile. Half of my vagina was black and dead. The surgery was a debridement inside and out of the vagina. I almost died because of jardiance. Now I put jardiance and stegletgro and family that I am allergic. Ozempic is part of the family. I am 3 years clean. This was a scary situation. My fiance told the nurses not to tell me what I had. I'm glad I didn't know, I really don't think I would have survived. Be cautious be aware. If you have swelling and pain, fever don't wait get to the hospital.Read More Read Less

The medication even with my insurance was $50 a month for 10mg pills. I began taking this on a Friday and by Sunday I was experiencing dry mouth, nausea, and just about everything that could be a potential side effect. It did however drop my BS down to below 200 when on avg I was around 280. But the reward was DEFINITELY not worth the suffering of the side effects that this medication caused. If you do not experience those and can afford it I do think it would be a viable option, the thing is everyone's body is different so what works for you may not for others. Just be aware of what can potentially come from taking this medication and bee safe! Read More Read Less

I have been on Jardiance for about 6 months, 10mg. My doctor chose the 10mg because I am very cautious with prescription drugs. I did not notice much of a change for 3 months, it was like a placebo, but no side effects either. I continued on it. My last A1C was 6.5 after it had risen to 7.2. I also started using a continuous glucose meter about the same time. So, I must attribute some of my lower A1C to that because it helped me discover the foods that would cause spikes, like white rice, potatoes, french fries and all chips, bread. Surprisingly, ice cream does not cause the spike that a turkey sandwich does.
If you leave a review, please indicate if you are taking the 10mg or the 25mg. I think that is what is causing all the negative reviews. This medications is potent, so staring off with 25mg is very risky.Read More Read Less

Started jardiance because I have type 2 Diabetes. At first it lowered my night sugars 20 points and kept my bs between 90-180.
But after a month on it i ended up in ER with severe chest pain, vomiting and sweating. They stopped jardiance while in hospital to see if it would affect blood pressure. Had no symptoms. Returned
home 3 days later (no heart issues found)
Took Jardiance again as directed and hour later had severe chest pain, vomiting, sweating and felt like I would faint. Laid down and called Doctor. They stopped the Jardiance. Tried metformin and went into shock. I am done with these meds!! Going the natural route. Read More Read Less

This drug was like poison to my entire system. You could find me by following the trail of empty water bottles or in the bathroom since it made me urinate every 20 minutes. Then, they wanted $1700 for my monthly Rx. It never even helped lower my A1C. No thanks, keep your lousy drug so you can put a commercial on TV every 2 minutes.

Was on metformin and pioglitizone. A1C was a little high, so doctor removed the pioglitizone and added jardiance. Now my A1C is even higher than it was. Doc says we are going back to the original prescription.

I haven't gotten any UTIs or Yeast infections. I have been taking this medication for about 18 months along with a few others. I started this one at 10mg but was moved up to 25mg after a few months. My blood sugar rarely goes about 110 even when eating a large carb-heavy meal. My a1cs are below 6!

My a1c went from 12 to 6.0 now at 6.8 Happy about that. I am male but have had trouble with yeast on my privates and my rearend. I keep the yeast under control with miconazole cream and miconazole lotrimin spray. After 3 years my body started to fight off the yeast and a quick spray with Lotrimin twice a week an I am good. Jardiance has also made my heart stronger and now my appetite is out of control and my sex drive is the same. My blood glucose was 400 when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. Now it seldom reaches 160. I dont think this medicine was meant for women with the yeast infection and the UTI. Just my opinion from what I experienced as a male. Make sure to wash your privates daily. Thanks Jardiance.Read More Read Less

After taking this for less than 1 month, I have a UTI, yeast infection, excessive thirst and very frequent urination. Blurred vision, brain fog, dizziness as well. My glucose levels are higher than they have ever been. Looks like I'll go back to glyburide and deal with the hypoglycemia instead. I will never take Jardiance again!

Over the past 3-4 years my A1C has gone from 6.5 to 8.1 on metformin alone. Doc added januvia but didn’t do anything. Endocrinologist added 25 mg jardiance. So far my morning fasting bs has dropped anywhere from 40-60 points. No side effects yet, lost 2 pounds.
