This pill is horrible. Irregular periods, constant cramping, and stomach pains. Would not recommend this pill to anyone.

I changed from the mirena after being on that for nearly 2.5 years. from the moment that was put in I felt like a black cloud hovered me. I finally got it taken out because I couldn't feel the strings. Needless to say I need to be on birth control. My doctor recomonded Lo Loestrrin Fe because of the low dose of hormones. My sex drive as increased so much and I am only 2.5 weeks into taking the pills but I feel so much better inside and out and I am losing weight or so I feel like I am. I love this pill.. After 1wk I gained 5lbs. I am very emontional I can cry at almost anything, alot of thing iritate me, I have a short temper and with a 2 1/2yr patients is important, low sex drive, and I have crazy dreams. I have no spotting and I'm going onto week 4. I will take one more month if things don't change I will change my BC.

I react fairly quickly to birth control and normally do not like taking it. I get emotional and depressed on most birth controls. I have tried the Nuva Ring along with two IUDs in the last two and a half years. This birth control is the first that hasn't made me feel like I was losing my mind. I do have the slight breast tenderness and experienced nausea here and there but I will take that over depression.

I had a pulmonary embolism from it.

The only side effects I experienced were increased cup size and a little extra PMS. Other than that my period only lasts one day, my skin has cleared up, and I don't cramp at all! I am in love with this pill

I was on this pill for 6 months and finally stopped taking it. I had breast tenderness, dark patches appeared on my chin and cheeks, gained 15lbs (I'm a personal trainer!), had constant stomach pain, developed migraines and I never had a headache in my life! My mood changed so much that I started seeing a therapist. Finally I narrowed everything down to this pill and ever since I stopped taking it I've felt so much better and have lost those 15lbs. I have been on this BC for about 4 months now. I have had 2 UTI's and they have been severe. The first 2 months I had no side effects, other than loss of appetite which was GREAT, however I have not leveled out and started eating again, haven't gained any extra but haven't lost any extra either. I have not had any mood swings or anything like that. I did skip my periods for the last 2 months and have not had one yet, waiting for one this month. I am getting older and my periods were lasting longer and longer, so my doctor thought it might be helpful to switch to Lo Loestrin. I have been on it a month and a half. Haven't really stopped spotting and bleeding since. I also have been extremely moody and snappy. My abdomen is perpetually bloated (not just during PMS) and I have gained a few pounds. I am not a fan of this pill.

I gained about 10lbs within the first month. Very 'heavy' spotting...very moody, no sex drive and my breasts have increased at least by 2 bra sizes...also very tender. I feel awful and will be stopping asap.

I have been taking this pill for just a week, on top of the IUD Mirena. I have endometriosis, POS, PMDD and abnormal periods -- even with the IUD in for over 9 months I still have multiple periods in the same month. This pill has done the opposite for me than for most... I was having problems with mood swings, rage and irregular periods, and while I can't speak to what it has done for my cycle, having not finished a pack yet, I have to say that I've only experienced mild breast tenderness thus far. My mood is so stable and I feel even keel for the first time in years. I haven't felt that way in YEARS. Less "horomonal"/mental side effects than higher dose birth control that I've been on, but it seems to increase vaginal discharge all month (anyone else?) also I very rarely get a period which can be a little unnerving!

I have been on this BC for 2 months now. My OBGYN prescribed this to me because of my cyst. I haven't had a period; which is fine with me since mine are so heavy and painful. I have experienced tender breast and mood swings only on the last week of the meds. I recommened this to my friends, because I have't had the weight gain with this BC like I have had with others. The only thing I dislike is my headaches.

I've been taking this for 8 months. I've been on my period for 2-3 weeks the entire time. Along with my extended period I have a very low libido and am more depressed than I would be if I stopped taking them. I'm going to get off them and on to something else soon!

I started taking this because my periods were painful. My doctor chose this one because of its "Lo" estrogen level. I began having spotting which turned out to be worse that my actual periods. Didn't get my period until I stopped taking it, and it made me very irritable. I wouldn't recommend.

While I didn't experience the severe acne breakouts that I got from Nuvaring and Depo...and I actually was appreciative of the nauseous feeling I had hours after taking the pill (because normally I gain weight on birth control)... I'm going to ask my doctor to switch to Yasmin. I hadn't been on birth control for years because I hadn't been in a serious relationship. I fell in love with someone and within a couple weeks went to my gyno to start BCP. I was worried about which one she would give me as Nuvaring and Depo had made me completely suicidal... I suffer from PMDD, so she recommended this for its lack of estrogen. Within 4 days of starting my first pack of Lo Loestrin, I started to feel depressed and that feeling of walking on the clouds because I had met the man of my dreams went away as I started to pick fights with him. I have had moments of helplessness, rage, deep depression and find it difficult to get out of bed to do the things I love to do... I've read the reviews online and haven't found a single review from someone that "adjusted" to this after the initial depression period... and I'm not going to let it ruin a single other day of my beautiful life just because I'm "hoping" that the moodiness will pass.Read More Read Less

I switched to this med after getting several yeast infections and increased cramping while on beyaz for a yr. I have used several other bc in the past. I normally have regular periods...never missed in my life. I am on month 2 of this bc. So far I have not had a period or cramping! Makes me worry but preg test - so I guess it's working well! I have been very hungry on this, but hopefully this will go away. Hope this helps!

I have been taking it for abotu a year now. At first, it induced migranes around the 2 week of a pack. I stopped taking the blue and white placebo pills though and I haven't had a migrane in a few packs. Like others, I have experienced irritability at the same time every month and have missed many periods.

Since i have started taking this medication I have been extremly depressed,angry,short tempered, helpless and downright blah. My MD prescribed this to me say its a low dosage and that i should have any side effects. Well, my PMS has been worse and I feel like I want to jump off the roof. Im going to call my doctor because I dont think im supposed to be feeling this way.

I started taking these to help my acne and for birth control. Within a week I was having depression and crazy mood swings. I was going to finish the packet anyway but at day 11 I started spotting. I have never in my life had spotting on any form of Bc so I am done. Stopped last night and I already feel more calm and balanced. Just for reference I had similar emotional responses to orthodox fri cyclen and yasmin.
