I have been on this medication for approximately 6 weeks. I have tried several other cholesterol meds but nothing worked and I had extreme joint pain while on the other meds. After one month, my cholesterol dropped from 260 to 140. My tri dropped from 390 to 240. My dr also had me take 5000 units of Vitamin D one week prior to starting the Livalo and continuing for two weeks after I started th...

Did a good job on bad cholesterol but after about 1.5 months of taking started with major joint pain in knees, ankles, feet and hips. It is so uncomfortable I can't do all my cardio workout...I also take Niaspan and I do not feel they are a good mix...can't take other statins either..worse side affects

Severe side effects at begining of the fourth week of treatment. First week felt great, lots of energy. Second week felt normal. Third week restlessness at night. Fourth week no sleep until 4 AM for two nights with extremely active thoughts could not relax, even after taking sleeping pills. Stopped drug then next few days had muscle aches and finally felt normal after about 1 week off of the drug.

I have been on this drug Livalo 2 mg. for 3 weeks now and I have had severe cramps in my legs and my left foot has gone numb. So I stopped taking this drug and right away things are much better and I can flex my foot with no pain. This drug is not for me.

On 2mg, I thought I had very few side effects BUT if I am outside in the heat of the day I become dizzy all of a sudden and feel very weak. I have never had anything like this before taking Livalo. The pharmacy says the drug (pill) is light sensative and should be stored out of any light. Does that mean that is why I am experiencing this side effect? Has anyone else had this problem??

My doctor started me on 1/2 tablet daily for 6 weeks until bloodwork will be done. I also take Co-Q-10 and 5,000 units of Vit. D daily. I have experienced knee pain, sinus drainage and cough, headaches daily, even migraines, and waking up during the night. I can't say if the med has helped my triglyceride or cholesteral as yet because I haven't been on the drug for 6 weeks. The side effects are less severe than taking Crestor and other statin drugs. I question if statin drugs are the answer?Read More Read Less

I, like many others, have been on this medication for about 2 weeks and hurting all over. I have fibromyalgia, so I was sure if the increase in joint/muscle pain was caused by the my condition or from the Livalo. Now I am pretty sure it is the Livalo because I am experiencing so much joint/muscle and weakness that I am finding it hard to swim or ride my stationary bike. I have been doing these things for almost 2 years. I have been feeling generally sick for the last 4 days with ongoing headaches that only subside while on pain medication. Then I suffer from stomach pain and nausea. This is not worth it!Read More Read Less

I started taking 4mg, had side effects right away. Dr put me on 2mg and have been on it for 6 months now with no side effects and the blood works show a marked improvement. My insurance company won't pay for this drug but I got a RX card from the Livalo company and it costs $25.00 for a month supply. For now I am very satisfied with this drug.

After having tried many, many statins, my doctor tried Livalo at 2mg. It works, absolutely NO side effects and within 3 months my total cholesterol had dropped 120 points.

I have been taking this drug (2mg daily) for three months. My total blood cholesterol level went from 251 to 183. Tri from 145 to 113. HDL and LDL normal limits. I have no muscle pain as I had with ALL other statins. I am very satisfied with this medication as well as this medication worked for me.

This statin does not raise blood sugar like Crestor and all the other statins. Not metabolized like the other statins; have no side effects at all except that it's working! If you have had problems with other statins this may work for you as it does for me!

I'm Diabetic, High blood pressure and high cholesterol. This is the only statin I've taken that does not raise my blood sugar. I have no side effects at all. I had to stop taking every other statin due to side effects. Also every other statin caused me to have ED in addition to higher blood sugar levels. Wow, Livalo is the best!
