Years ago, whenever i got a cold it ended up turning into a sinus infection or bronchitis... before this medication was made OTC, i would have to always go to the doctor who would prescribe me the exact formula that Mucinex D contains. Ever since taking this when getting a cold i have avoided bronchitis and sinus infections. The only negative side affect i have incurred is sometimes i have had tro...

I took this medication for cold (stuffed nose) and cough symptoms. I did not find complete relief with this as I have with tylenol cold or the like. Although it did help a bit. In addition it made me nauseaus and the pills are so large. For the price paid and only partial relief with horrible side affects - I dont recommend this product!

We have to understand that medications work differently for each individual. In my case, it works 100% of the time. I have earaches, sinus issues and cough because of allergies, and I have taken many different things for it. I have been plagued with bouts of bronchitis as well. The product that works WONDERS for me, is this one. I am thankful that I found it.

This drug works but beware the side effects. For me dizziness, delirious, sleeplessness , nervousness and even twitching at night, drove me insane. But I have no more congestion with my sinuses. I would have to say DO NOT take it before you go to bed. It kept me drowsy during the day but up at night. I canâ??t explain that.

I am a healthy, active 61 yr old female. I have none of the â?? Do Not Take â??conditions which are posted on the Mucinex D box. A friend suggested I try Mucinex D when I developed a cough along with heavy mucus. After following the manufacturers directions for six days, one tablet every 12 hours, I was hospitalized with a heart beat at 171. Medical bills out of pocket over $5000.00, A stress test, time off from work...I have monitored my blood pressure daily since this ordeal and there is no chance I have high blood pressure. So if you are considering taking Mucinex D due to their ads on tv or because others are convinced it helped to relieve their cold symptoms think again. Do not risk the gamble by taking Mucinex D.Read More Read Less

This is my Go-To medication of choice. I have tried the Mucinex DM and other kinds and they do nothing. I have never had any side effects. This clears up nasal passageways and helps dispel phlegm. Works like a miracle. Never had smell problems, bathroom issues or headaches while using this product. Although- I offered this to a coworker and she stated she couldn't use it, she has an intolerance to pseudoephedrine. That may be an issue with some of the lower reviews on this page.

This was my first experience with mucinex DM. I've tried the others without issue. While it cleared me up, the putrid, overwhelming body odor did me in. I only took one and the smell woke me up 3x. It's everywhere, I even taste it. I was relieved to find others with this issue because my husband doesn't even smell it, but he hasn't been near me since I've been sick. I can't take this side effect, if you can it does clear the sinuses.

I tried this product based on the advice of a pharmacist and was disappointed overall. I picked up the 12 hour extended release version and it appeared to work well for the first 6 hours however right at the 6th hour my cough kicked back in and I've been miserable since then because I can't take any more cough suppressants until the 12 hours is up. What a waste of money.

After enduring 3 sinus surgeries, removal of polyps and meningitis at the age of 14, this medication has been heaven sent. Nothing else stops the horrible pressure in my face like this! The only drawback is, even when I take one at 7am, I fell spacey all day long. I guess that's a small price to pay for complete sinus relief. I would strongly advise drink a lot of water when taking this medication as well as using the NeilMed Sinus Rinse twice a day to drain the sinuses.

12 hours if misery! Non stop coughing up very little mucus explosive diarrhea head ache as it finally wore off thank god it did! Went on a 24 hour chat line at midnight mind you..asked a pharmacist if I could take a generic dyphenhidrimine 25 ml now feel better already! Going to get my money back tomorrow and ask why the pharmacist didn't explain the terrible side effects! Its a controlled OTC med here in SD and I had to give them my drivers license just to buy it! Never suffered do much in my life from an OTC med! Horrible!Read More Read Less

I seem to be in the minority. Other than making me sleepy and having no appetite I haven't noticed any difference after taking two doses. My rib cage is so sore from coughing and runny nose and watery eyes haven't eased up at all.

I've suffered from air borne allergies year round for many years. I've tried allergy shots, but they never worked for me. This medication has cleared up the constant congestion that often led to sinusitis and then to migraines. I can't take it twice a day because it keeps me awake, but I have been taking it every day year round. I do worry that I may be overmedicating or possible side effects that I am unaware of.

Ah, Mucinex, for when you're in the mood for light green, scented pee. The pill is slightly larger than I prefer to take, but it works a treat. I have sinusitus at the moment and more green stuff in my head than should fit under the laws of physics. Mucinex keeps my throat from sticking together when I swallow and helps keep things moving out instead of stuffing tighter inside my sinuses. the funky scent lasts about a day longer than I take the meds, though I'm sure that varies by person. Overall, it's worth the odd side effect!Read More Read Less

Besides prescribing an antibiotic for my bronchial symptoms, my dr. also recommended this Mucinex because she said I had a lot of congestion. 7 hours after taking it, I woke up suddenly with prickly burning in my legs, violent nausea & dizziness; I got out of bed & fell, unable to walk & crawled to the bathroom, scared...it was hard to breathe; I lay down. I put my forehead on the cold floor tiles & suddenly sweat poured from everywhere. I must have been groaning; my husband tried to help me get up but I had no strength. I had to urinate so did it on the floor. Long story short, he called EMS & off I went to the hospital; drs. there said I had a severe allergic reaction to Mucinex from the ingredients. They said use Robitussin cough medicine with expectorant instead & they released me. I had a less severe reaction some hours later after I got home & knew it was going out of my system. My antibiotic (Z-Cam) works well with Robitussin. I'm doing much better. If you are sensitive to meds, please be very careful. Read More Read Less
