Don't let the negative reviews scare you! The majority of people using Implanon are happy so they don't bother to leave reviews online! I didn't get Implanon for years because of the negative reviews and now I wish I had talked to my doctor more and read fewer reviews. I have had my implant for 6 months now. I have no periods and no spotting and it has lifted a weight off my mind that was always t...

I hate the side effects it gave me, the worst of them all were the persistent bleeding which made me feel tired all the time.

It's only been a few months but so far it has exceeded all expectations. Despite the listed side effects, I no longer have incredibly intense period cramps (which means I've actually been able to go to work when I usually couldn't). My acne has subdued, my mood has improved. I could not be happier. At the moment, i'm experiencing prolonged spotting which has lasted around 2-3 weeks so far, but i expect that to dissipate soon. With that being the only side effect I've experienced, I'm over the moon. Life changing. Read More Read Less

Hello ladies and those whom may be concerned. I got on birth control in may of 2015. I was on implanon for the whole three years. I still remember the day the I had it removed (may 2018). My doctor was pushing for me to get a new one or try another form on B.C and I refused. I remember all the mood swings, horrendous weight gain and etc. What I can not fathom is my EVER LASTING PERIOD. In 2022 I am still bleeding for 4/5 months at a time THE ENTIRE TIME while spotting in between. I HAVE NO SEX LIFE BECAUSE, of this BIRTH CONTROL. The last time I came off of my period I came off for ONE WEEK. ONE WEEK ! To turn around and bleed for another 4/5 months it’s honestly ridiculous! I spot all the time even when I’m not on. My periods are so heavy every time I use the bathroom the toilet. Is 100 filled with BLOOD AND CLOTS. To put the icing on the cake. I NEVER KNOW WHAT DAYS IM GOING TO COME ON AND WHAT DAYS IM GOING TO COME OFF. I have an appointment set with my OB coming soon and I’m praying to every god there is. That there is some form of therapy or medication. That will make this ever lasting period go away. Read More Read Less

Thank you for destroying my family.
I even have knife marks on my skin.
You destroyed the perfect woman.
I had to live with that woman using that medicine for 15 years, because you asked my wife when she had just given birth if she wanted that medicine. She was only 19, you didn't have that right.
Punches to my head for 15 years.
My family... You destroyed

Let's start off by saying that the wait was worth it for me. After reading all so many reviews that were negative and after the first few months of nonstop light bleeding I was wondering if it was ever going to stop.
It finally did!
I got my implant after a missed miscarriage. I was still bleeding a little bit from it when the implant was inserted. 24hrs after insertion I thought I was dying. There was a lot of heavy bleeding. The blood was bright red and every time I was on the toilet just dripped out. I was horrified. But I wasn't cramping and the bleeding only happened when I stood up. My s.o. calmed me down and pampered me for the next day or so and it did slow down a lot. For the next 3 months though I had light consistent pink discharge that would get a little heavier here and there but was never like a regular period. It was more of an inconvenience to deal with than a real burden.
Finally it just all stopped one day. Now I when get my periods they are a day or two longer, but only consist of brown very light discharge.
The pros of my experience:
-No more cramps!!! They used to incapacitate me.
-No weight gain
-No difference in acne. My skin is as it has always been
-No mood changes or hair loss or any other of the negative side effects that were mentioned in the reviews I read.
I hope this helps women to decide to stick it out if they can. Read More Read Less

I had it implanted in my arm on December 31st 2021, My period was fine in January, then 2 weeks later I had another period and wont stop spotting since then. Sometimes is light spotting and other times its full on bloody show.
It has been 3 months now, I do not have migraine, weight gain or any other side effects. At the moment I have decided to give it another 8 weeks as I have read many reviews here and my side effect seem to be mild compared to many others.
I will be removing it in 8 weeks if the bleeding/spotting does not stop.Read More Read Less

When I gave birth to my baby, the hospital wouldn't let me leave without this implant. They just worried that me getting pregnant might /probably kill me. The 1st 2yrs I got my period every 2wks. My sex drive and libdo is completely non existent. Its putting a lot of strain on my relationship because he doesn't understand how I'm not into any kind of sexy play...
But this 3rd year has been the worst. I haven't had my period at all and I have been having the most hectic case of explosive diarrhea. I'm on the toilet 6 times a day, whether I eat or not. Painkillers seem to be the only thing that helps. I'm going to the hospital for ct scans to make sure there is nothing else wrong and then I am having it removed... I feel like I'm a bad mom, missing out on my baby growing up all because I need to be near a toilet...

I had my implant put in November 2018 and in January 2019 I started experiencing severe headaches. Then in March 2019 I started having problems with my eyesight. I thought the headaches is caused by the fact that my eyesight is getting bad due to working on a computer everyday. But turns out the implanon caused pressure on my brain and made the optic nerves of my eyes swell. So please if any one is having these symptoms have yourself checked out.

Iâ??m 30 years of age with two children. Iâ??ve had every form of birth control you can imagine. While this is one of the best options for birth control as far as effectiveness and easy use, Iâ??m taking it out. The first four months I had periods every two weeks that lasted 12 days. During that in between phase, I spotted. It was horrible! Then I wouldnâ??t get a period for five months at a time and when my period came, it was excruciating and long with two weeks of spotting following. My sex drive is nonexistent and mood swings are through the roof and my vaginal irritation, discharge and my vagina are not kosher. This is too much for me. Rashes that come anywhere and everywhere on my body, acne and some bouts of depression. everyoneâ??s body is different and while it is effective and easy to use, itâ??s not for me. Iâ??m going to look towards a more permanent method.Read More Read Less

Hi, I got the Implanon towards month end nov 2017, I was using diet pills at that time but stopped bcoz I had reached my goal of 62kg. in Dec 2017 I ate like a horse, I realized that I was not gaining weight, that was good. come Jan 2018, my appetite was Gone, I lost 1kg every week, I am now 55.6kg I am so moody, I am depressed, I want it out but scared to fall pregnant, I like the current weight bcoz I'm short (1.5) but my happiness is no more. I feel lonely most of the time, the fun-loving me is missing somewhere in the Implanon, and to make it worst I have marrital problems and I don't know what is what. Read More Read Less

I hate it so much! Let me start off my saying I no longer feel like myself. I just can never be happy. Anything and everything makes me cry ( I was never an emotional peroson)!!! I get my period every 2 weeks for about 7-10 days. When getting my period I get the worse cramps. I've gained about 15 pounds and no longer want to have sex with my boyfriend. Don't get me wrong the BC does great by not getting me pregnant BUT to me dealing with all the side effects is messing with my head and making me go crazy. It's even taking a toll on my boyfriend. I'm getting it taken out next week Read More Read Less

Well girls I absolutely not recommend Implanon, let me tell you a little bit of my journey with it. I got Implanon on 8 August of 2016 and today I took it out the 17June of 2017 its been a nightmare. Of course it does what it suppose to do which is not getting you pregnant but on the other side it is the most horrible thing that has happened to me because of the side effects. 1. My period started to be irregular and after 3 months my period just disappeared 2. I am a person that alytry to take care of my skin and after one month of having Implanon my skin started to be dry, breakout a lot even on my back ?? I never ever used to breakout, and I started to notice some back spots that appeared for no reason 3. I used to b 150 and now I am 170 hopefully I can go back to my normal weight Read More Read Less

If i was to recommend any birth control it would be this one! When i got it inserted i didn't have really any pain and it stopped my period which is the best part! So if you're thinking about getting borth control that is super effective and you don't have to worry about taking a pill every day or too much pain of getting it you should definitely go for the Implanon!! hope this helps

So till the date I still have the birth control. The date I got it the only thing painful was the shot to numb my arm, that burned! everything was great but with time I have notice a lot of personality change in myself. I became extra sensitive about everything, I felt like I couldn't trust anyone and depression... it got to the point that I went to speak with someone. I use to have regular but painful three day period before the birth control. Now ever other, if not every month I still pms and get cramps. Where the birth control is, I get sharp pains at times.Read More Read Less
