After 3 days, I began to feel a little woozy. Cigarettes no longer tasted good. The 4th and 5th days I was able to prepare myself for a quit date by reducing from 15 cigs a day down to 4. Missed a couple of doses and moved my quit date back a few days. Had a bad craving on the day b4 my quit date and bought a pack. Normally a pack a day smoker, I finally finished the pack 4 days later and now hav...
This drug is poison! It is not safe and many people will not notice side effects until it is too late to stop the damage. Causes diabetes, heart problems and a whole lot more, READ the side effects and look up the medical terms before you ingest this poison. If you want an idea of what it is made from look up cytisine. There are better ways to stop smoking then using poison like this drug and it i...

I just started Chantix this week. 8/7/23.. I thought that it was okay at first with minimum side effects except for the dreams. However today I realized that maybe it's not the best med for me as it is causing suicidal ideation and irritability.I don't like this at all. I don't know if I should stop taking it or keep taking it hoping that it get better.

This is my 5 day and I'm still smoking like one cig 3 times , what I've noticed is it's not so much that I smoke them but I feel better knowing I have them , is that a smoking thing or a mental thing. onward and upward

Varenicline worked great so far for me. I'm two weeks into taking a pill twice a day, stopped smoking one week. Feel little tired, crazy dreams when I'm able to sleep from other problems I have. The one thing after 40 years of smoking i'm smelling all sorts of things at strange times. lol Not 100% it is the pill or just my nose smelling things I've not smelled in years. Anyway I would recommend using this if you've tried & can not stop smoking.

I quit taking Varenicline after just 1 1/2 weeks after I started. The drowsiness was COMPLETELY debilitating for me!!! I mean, I was falling asleep at my desk, kind of looking like an addict "nodding off" at times. (No disrespect intended) It helped with cravings, but the chronic fatigue (not just drowsiness) was intolerable. I will attempt to quit cold-turkey or use patches instead.

The reason for 5 stars is that on first go around, stayed smoke free for 13 years. Went out with friends and Jose Cuervo showed up. Been smoking again for 3 years and starting Chantix (generic) again. First time only needed for 8 days. Fingers crossed.

I didn't quit on day 7 like I was supposed to, I quit on day 16, I believe. I've been smoking for 11 years, over a pack a day, and was able to go from that to nothing without looking back.
The side effects aren't bad because I already struggle with depression, and I rarely hit the dream state of sleep, anyway. I'm a little more angry than normal, but I'll manage that no problem. My biggest issue is that I literally almost broke my thumb nail trying to use the starter pack. It's so hard to get out of the packaging! Read More Read Less

Don’t drink alcohol with this medication at al. I was a heavy drinker and the doctor didn’t tell me that it can seriously mess with your mental health if you do! Apart from that it’s an excellent tool to quit smoking.

I almost quit my job as my ability to concentrate was severely limited. The feeling was very similar to the combination of benzodiazepine and opioid simultaneously. Luckily I forgot to take it long enough so as to be able to realize that it was the taking of these pills that caused the problem.

Although Chantix DID eliminate the urge to smoke, the psychological side effects made this drug a nightmare. The suicidal thoughts and drowsiness made it impossible to drive. And I do want to mention that I NEVER had suicidal thoughts before taking drug. I would rather smoke!

After 8 or 9 days I my desire to smoke faded away and I have been smoke free for a week. No side effects other than some vivid dreams which are actually quite pleasant. I recommend Chantix to anyone who wants to quit smoking. It will only work if you are motivated to stop.

My night vision was severely affected. My kidneys started to be affected after not smoking for three months, and when I stopped taking Chantix, my emotional state became very affected with depression and high levels of anxiety. I had to start smoking again in order to get back to being normal. I do not recommend this medication, I think it is very, very dangerous. It has been 5 years that I took this treatment and my eyesight was affected in a permanent way. My kidneys have regained strength and my emotions have returned to be normal, it did take time and I did return to being a smoker. Read More Read Less

This is only day 3 for me but this is also my second attempt at using Chantix. I now know you must take it the entire 3 months in order for it to work properly. So far I have experienced headaches, nausea, vivid dreams, dizziness, fatigue and sleeplessness. This may sound like a lot to deal with but it's better than the alternative. However in just 3 days time my desire to smoke has diminished significantly and I am starting to cough as one does when they stop smoking. I know this drug works and this time I'm in it for the long haul!Read More Read Less

I took as directed for one month. Was able to give up cigarettes on the 8th day without too much trouble. Continued to take Chantix for 2 more weeks. At that time I experienced extreme hot flashes and night sweats and stopped using the Chantix. The hot flashes and night sweats were fewer and less sever but I started desiring a cigarette more and more. After about 2 more weeks I tried the Chantix again. The hot flashes and night sweats returned very strongly. Have quit Chantix and will try to stay quit without it.Read More Read Less

I have been smoking for about 11 years. I cannot even recall the number of times I have attempted to quit smoking. A friend recommended Chantix to me and it really does work. For the first couple of days I had a little trouble concentrating but that went away the first week.In addition I do get the vidid dreams side effect however I have not had any bad dreams and for the most part the dreams are rather cool. I have been on Chantix for a month and smoke free for three weeks. It really does work and I do recommend it to smokers who are ready to quit.Read More Read Less

I started these meds 2 weeks ago. I have been reading a lot of reviews/blogs and I have found that for the most part everyone's experience is different. At first I thought this might be a miracle drug that would make me stop smoking. I was wrong! I still have some cravings but they do get better the longer you take it. I have found that keeping myself busy and changing routines really helps. Overall this is a great drug for people who have tried to quit before and know what its like to go through "withdrawals". As long as you have some will power you will do just fine!Read More Read Less
