I have IBS and take metamucil 3x/day. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY! Not only do I have clean, smooth bowel movements, metamucil has been extremely beneficial for my digestive system. Foods no longer give me stomach aches and I am no longer constipated! Trust me when I say this stuff is truly the miracle I needed to feel good everyday. It taste great! No gritty and grainy drink at all.

I became concerned when the colour of the berry metamucil was a bright red. Try to find the ingredients on pack was not there so looked online said contained colour additives that can cause cancer Tumors etc

Terrible product which is not solving the true problem, just masking it making things worse once you decide to stop using Metamucil. I started taking nutritional fiber supplement and hopefully things get better, previously I have messed up my gut work with Metamucil:(

Drs. recommended this for sister a metastatic breast cancer patient with a history of atrial venous malformations (AVM) in the stomach and colon from chemo. While product worked well for her, she had repeated GI hemorrhages and hospitalizations.
Too much roughage for her condition.
Drs. still insisted no problem with product until she stopped and went to good old fashioned prune juice, No problems since switch.

Thank you for making this product with stevia. I am diabetic and it’s hard to find things made with stevia. I love the orange flavor and it tastes so much better than the old Metamucil. I use everyday for type two diabetes and high cholesterol and triglycerides. Thank you again for making this product taste better and healthier with a better sugar substitute

I have been suffering with IBS for years. I thought I was lactose intolerant and had a sensitive gut to coffee, chocolate, deep fry and other foods. Coffee would sometimes literally go right through me in five minutes. I would have gut cramps frequently and be gassy. I had tests done every few years but doctors told me everything is fine and I need to stop eating and drinking things that affect me. Easier said than done. It was never mentioned to take a fiber supplement.
Sometimes I would be running for a toilet as things would want out of me suddenly without much notice. I only had a solid poop a couple times a month and it was always stinky and messy. Overall I have a healthy lifestyle, cooking at home daily, eating vegetables and lean meats, no deep frying, get exercise and I'm not over weight.
I was in the drugstore a few weeks ago and saw metamucil on sale so stopped to read the label and decided to try it. I was a little worried as it was recommended for constipation which I had the opposite off. We'll, within two days of drinking two servings per day, everything changed. Now I'm solid, looks a little strange and big and fluffy but no mess and really surprising not much stink. I can even drink coffee without it affecting me. Sure hope this lasts.Read More Read Less

I loved this product until I started having urinary and bladder problems. Burning when urinating and irritated bladder to almost painful! Such a shame because it worked like a charm on my constipation issues.

Yes it definitely serves its purpose but I also ended up with symptoms similar to a UTI - urgency to pee with no relief, burning but without the actual UTI that can be treated. I would have rather had the constipation.

Checking the ingredients, I saw maltodextrin, which has a glycemic index far higher than table sugar. I cant believe they give that to old people.

I used to use Metamucil constantly, but now I have two issues with it. The regular product has way too much sugar in the mix, which is bad for those watching sugar intake. The sugar free product has an artificial sweetener, aspartame, which is very unhealthy for those with kidney disease. I would have liked to continue its use but they offer nothing I could use safely.

This review is also in answer to a previous comment and question by someone here, about the frequent need to urinate after taking Metamucil. The same thing happened to me and I nearly ended up on a kidney dialysis machine, because I believe Metamucil triggered a problem in my bladder that I didn't know about.

I have been taking this for about 10 years. I do not take three doses per day, I take one glass mixed with a tablespoon in the evening. In the morning it works great. You have to drink it fast before it gels because it will choke you but this is described in packaging. It also has an additional benefit. At times I would get those "sticky" poos that would never wipe clean. Felt messy, was messy, and had to re-wipe all day. After taking this its fixed. One or two wipes and your clean. I swear by this stuff. Had colonoscopy's and the results have been fantastic so far but that's just me. I feel healthier and better taking it. It makes a difference!Read More Read Less

My Gastrolgist told me use Metamucil daily to help prevent pulyps from forming in my colon. The results have been very favorable with zero pulyps in my last colonoscopy. I was pleasantly surprised that my Cholesterol went from 210 down to 187. I do not take any cholesterol drugs. My bowel movements are regular and smooth. One teaspoon a day using Metamucil sugar free orange flavor works great for me. It is like drinking Tang. Super product!!

I've been using this every day for at least 5 years. I still have to watch what I eat and make sure I eat plenty of veggies and this stuff usually works like a charm.
