I normally never write on these things, but this medication has worked SO WELL for me, that I wanted to share, in case my comments might help someone who is undecided about Wellbutrin. I have had severe depression for about 10 years. Had been on prozac and effexor before wellbutrin. They both worked, but not even close to how the wellbutrin is helping me! I'm taking 300mg XL per day. I felt ...

After taking Wellbutrin for only a week, I have felt much more agitated and cant concentrate on anything for no amount of time. Also have had severe stiff neck muscles since beginning treatment.

This worked great in taking all the joy out of smoking for the first two days, then my mouth started tingling, then throat and tongue swelled in allergic reaction. Really too bad because I think it would have helped me successfully quit.

Within three days of taking this medication I was experiencing a full Substance-Induced psychosis. I was very anxious, irrational, agitated, had audio and visual hallucinations, irritable, hostile, impulsive and was severely fidgety. This medication runs this risk, but as said, the benefits outweigh the side effects. However, in a case like mine, this medication just is not an option for me.

I find that Wellbutrin in the a.m. thwarts any symptoms of depressoin throughout my entire day.

I switched to this after Paxil made me so tired I couldn't function (but I wasn't depressed...). Wellbutrin made me hostile and mean. It was awful and I yelled at my kids all the time over nothing.

Easy to use. BUT please read the full comment. I am proud of those that can take this. I was on this drug and let me tell you.. I started seeing flying black dogs and people walking through walls. First sign of weird sightings, call your doctor.

This particular drug had no effect at all. After several months of trying it, my physician switched me to Zoloft, which worked better with my body chemistry. However, I do know of others who have been helped a great deal by Wellbutrin.

I had been taking Zoloft for depression without effect. I began taking Wellbutrin SR and within a day I was feeling great. My wife commented that "I have my old husband back."

I was able to stop smoking withing four weeks of taking the drug. It suppresses appetite, so weight gain has not been an issue. I have not craved a cigarette since I quit!

I take 3 doses of this daily. Not good for someone with ADD. That means that most days I only take 2 of the three! I have had side effects such as dry mouth which has been pretty severe. I have also had an aweful taste in my mouth - like a metallic taste. The dry mouth has been the most inconvenient because by the end of the day, I have little voice left. I get canker sores on my tongue because of the dry mouth as well.
