It works instantly for me. Probably depends if acetylcholine is the problem. Brain fog vanishes, dreams become vivid, memory improvement, motivation and mood improvement very noticeable on the same day. The down side for me is it makes me so alert I am awake longer at night and it gives me a minor headache so I cut back to every other day so I get those side effects every other day. My mother ...

I have been using this product for over two months & have NOT noticed any change in my cognitive function or my memory. However, I have been unable to find out how it takes for this product to actually cause a change in either of these functions!

I'd been taking this for 2 months for brain fog due to Lyme disease, one pill in the AM every other week. While it has improved mental clarity a bit, it has created another problem--lack of sleep during the week I'm on it due to severe muscle cramping in my legs and feet. Occasionally so bad I've had to crawl to the bathroom for a pain reliever. I've stopped taking this med after reading that it can cause muscle spasms and lack of sleep also causes brain fog.

i do not have a memory condition. i take 200mcg of huperzine-a a day from double wood supplements. i skip weekends to keep my Acetylcholine levels balanced (as i have heard levels to high can be dangerous. i primarily take it to enhance my memory and learning beyond normal levels but have also noticed it enhances cognitive thinking speed. i find myself not trying to remember things as much like "whats that word im looking for?". i do believe it helps my learning retention beyond what it used to be. im 26 and i have had an intrest in brain boosting for a few years. if you want to save money and get the same benifits as/of premium nootropics (learning, memory and cognitive speed) i would recommend this. this shows even young"ish" people can still benifit from extra brian juice. i also take choline from GNC to help with the formation of Acetylcholine on weekdays with huperzine-a. all on amazon. I've noticed nothing in over five years taking the product. I don't expect to notice anything because I have nothing to compare. There has been nominal short-term memory reduction over five years, but long-term memory is excellent for my age. Recently, I've been asked to perform in speaking engagements in my profession, and though I feel a bit slow, people seem very appreciative. I am taking Huperzine A as a bit of insurance because I plan to work past retirement age of most people.

As described, this originates from Chinese club moss. It actually has enough evidence that it's been formally approved in China for treating Alzheimer's Disease since 1994. Being a cholinesterase inhibitor, it has the same mechanism as Donepezil, the primary drug used in the west for treating Alzheimer's Disease. But at a fraction of the cost. I can tell it works because when I use it every day, I get a side-effect of foot spasms. Cutting down to using it every other day fixes that though. Working a job where I have to temporarily memorize numbers quite a bit, this (combined with other supplements that improve memory, acetyl-l-carnitine, bacopa, and phosphatidylserine) makes a noticeable difference. I take 25mg of Amitriptyline for chronic pain, have been taking for about 5 years. It works very well for what was debilitating pain but my cognitive functions are noticeably dulled and muddy. I care less about all aspects of my life especially those that are cognitively taxing and difficult (memory, problem solving, organising things, sequencing activities). I procrastinate and have many days where I don't feel up to my demands. I feel disconnected emotionally too and in a bit of a fog. Life is a bit of a blur. I appreciate the pain being much reduced, I couldn't live comfortably before, but the cognitive toll is high and seems to be worsening over time. I am 52 years old. I have found Huperzine A has made me feel more present and interested in my demands and more connected with my life in general. A bit like the fog has lifted. I noticed the difference quickly. It is a bit confronting because I can feel the enormity of my disconnect and the things I have been avoiding doing (tax, reports, difficult relationships etc). Normally I don't feel this so much, so I don't care about it. Is interesting to experience. I will continue taking and see where it leads me. Is good to feel more connected to my life even though it is a bit of a shock and I have to work on my thinking to not feel anxious about my neglect. I work as a Clinical Psychologist and it is all interesting to experience. I have had to work less in recent years because my cognitive capacity is less.It takes me longer to do all things and my organisation is poor. My dreams are more vivid and recall of dreaming is better. I am taking 200mcg most days. I tried taking a bit more, but felt dizzy. Read More Read Less

Been taking this in Gorilla Mind Smooth nootropics. Notice huge difference in memory and overall mental clarity. Take it before tests and during studying since it has an effect on neuroplasticity.

So first of all for all people who are experiencing side effects such as vomiting, you can bypass that with other supplements. I use LucidEsc from ViviDream and they have like 5 other ingredients which prevent you from feeling bad. I am trying to lucid dream but haven't had any luck, so I tried these pills. I have been using these for over a month now (every 3rd day 1 pill, 200mcg) and I have been lucid for once for 6 seconds. This might not sound Spectacular, but all of the dreams I was having without being lucid have been way more vivid and I could remember more dreams than before after waking up. I lofe this supplement. Hi recently, two days ago, started Huperzine at 100 MCG‘s twice daily. I notice a difference in my muscle weakness, it’s not as pronounced. I just read this morning that might be better to just start with once a day for 2 to 4 weeks and then take a break at about one week in between. So that’s my plan, Lord willing it will give me some relief.

I got this from Bulk Supplements. I took 150 mcg, in around 20 minutes I started getting muscle spasms, around 30 minutes it got much worse, around 40 minutes terrible cramping and stomach spasms, and minutes later vomiting multiple times. Spasms continued as a I forced myself to sleep, woke up and everything was better. Will not use again.

taking about a week and it does change the way I focus. gives a slight lightheaded feeling, but cognitive speed and memory are improved. However, bouts of nausea happen about 6 hours after taking it.

On 1 month mark of pills. Trying to improve short term memory. Have started a new experience of being unable to find words. They seem to have escaped me completely. Takes many minutes to find them. This is new. Timing is too coincidental. I'm concerned and stopping this herb immediately. I would like input from anyone who may be experiencing this same issue. It's downright scary as heck!
