I first started taking Petadolex when I was ten, and traveling abroad. My mother had been using it daily to ease migraine headaches for several years. My migraines were blinding, puking pain for hours up to days. Sometimes I would get background headaches that would be on and off for several days. So we tried taking butterbur as soon as I got any early warning symptoms. Almost invariably, if I tak...

Just finished my first month of taking butterbur (75mg) and feverfew (380 mg) twice a day and B2 once a day. It has been more effective than any of the prescription medications we have tried. After 9 months of almost daily migraines, I just experienced 12 days of migraine free life! For me, I have not noted any side effects.

Butterbur is an amazing herbal treatment for migraines. After using 4 different prescription medications (with debilitating side effects) for post concussion migraines, I heard about Butterbur. I researched it online and decided to try it. Taking one capsule per day has been extremely effective in eliminating my migraines--I've gone from daily migraines to no migraines---simply amazing. I also noticed that it helps a bit with anxiety. I use the NOW Foods brand with Feverfew--will continue to use this. Read More Read Less

I've took for 2 1/2 weeks and my migraines increased in frequency and duration. I took more Maxalt during that time time period than I've taken in the past 3 months. Unfortunately this didn't work for me.

When I take the Butterbur along with White Willow Bark, I have no need to take Imitrex. I've been suffering for 8 years, and ever since I tried this stuff, no more pain.

I have had migraines since I can remember, I am 28 now. Historically, I have 10 headache days per month. I have tried many prescription medications over the years. I was hoping to decrease the frequency of my migraines more naturally. I tried butterbur 75mg along with 500mg of magnesium daily for 3 months. This treatment did not help my migraines at all. However, I did not experience any side effects, nor did this treatment make my migraines worse. This product did not work for me but I am not unhappy I tried it. Read More Read Less

I have had migraines for 40 years (55 years old). I have tried prescription preventive medicine which did not help. This is the first thing that has REALLY helped. I have only been on it for about 5 weeks and I have only had one migraine--usually in this time period I would have 5+.

Butterbur 75mg 2 x a day has decreased the frequency of migraine headaches. However, I have noticed when I take it, I have a little trouble breathing. Like I can't catch my brh. I would be interested to know if anyone else has had this side effect.

I've been an allergy (hay fever) sufferer as long as I can remember. Hate how the over the counter meds make me feel, drowsy and dried out. When I take butterbur, my head feels clear, my nose isn't swollen shut, and I feel good. I think it works better than the meds I take. If there's a really bad pollen day, I sometimes still may take loratidine or chlorotrimeton, also. It's been a wonderful discovery!

Amazing results adding Butterbur twice daily, along with Riboflavin and Magnesium (ea. once daily)for migraine relief. Just about put an end to the HAs. Was able to almost discontinue all maintenance/preventative Rx meds, as well.

I take about 100 grams of Butterbur 2-3-4 times per day, and have been able to completely eliminate the need for any other antihistimine. I do not feel sleepy or groggy and am just delighted!

I have had a positive experience with Butterbur. I take it twice a day in a product called MigraEeze through Vitamin Shoppe. It is an excellent support for my other meds, and I definitely notice when I don't take it. I will never give it up!

For me Butterbur was heaven sent; nothing helped and I resigned myself to just being part of the 2% in the world living with medicines that didn't help with migraines.

Butterbur helped with my migraines but gave me anxiety and a rapid pulse. After 4 months I had to discontinue. So sad because it helped so much with migraines.

Have had hormonal migraines for 13 years which were well controlled with perscribed meds until hormonal changes of peri-menopause when they increased in #, severity and no longer responded to meds. Started Butter bur about a year ago and reduced number of migraines from 4-6 per month in bed 2-3 days each to now back to 1 time per month during my period, controlled with one Maxalt, an ice pack and 2-3 hours of rest. Not a cure but migraines are well controlled again with very little impact on my life. I take 75mg once per day. It's a huge reduction in cost as well using 1 Maxalt per month vs. 6-10. Maxalt is a very effective med for me but very expensive...Butter Burr is very inexpensive - be sure to find a safe form - I use Swansons brand which I love. Butter Bur for prevention is a very much a worth while treatment for me. Read More Read Less

I was originally given butterbur in the form of the perscription "Petadolex" by my doctor. I have been using it for migraines for 3 years, and it is very effective. When I started using it, my migraines went from 4-6 a week to 1 or 2 a month. When I stop using it, the migraines return.

I have had 100+migraines/year since age 14. I started Petadolex 2 months ago, taking 150 mg./day. I have had an increase in the migraines and very bad IBS-type symptoms with lots of abdominal cramps. I will try to continue for 4 months to see if it helps over a longer term. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had this experience.

Before taking this with other herbs, relaxation, etc. I used to have migraine headaches at least once a month. After taking this and as I mentioned before other herbs, I don't get as much migraines or they are not as severe.
