Jewelweed grows here on my property. I use it for poison ivy/oak, rashes, bug bites.I use it by making it into natural soaps. I also use it by opening a stem & applying it directly to the affected area. It works very well. Never had an issue or a side effect using this plant.

I stared using this plant years ago to treat stinging nettle rashes,bug bites,and poison ivy. It works great and is easy to find along creek banks and other natural waterways. If the orange flowers and light green stem doesn't give it away break off a leaf and wave it under water. The leaf will shimmer silver. Highly recommend this treatment!

For poison ivy,oak,or many skin irritants, simply crush the flowers and leaves by rubbing them between the palms of the hands and patting the juices on the irritant.

I live along a river and jewel weed is one of the plants that is easily found here. I use it to take the sting away after coming in contact with stinging nettle. The relief is immediate and lasting. It takes the sting away the second it is applied. Break the stem, squeeze the stem ends and rub the juice on the area you want to treat. Have been doing this for years. The Jewel weed juice is also a mild fungicide.

Our whole family uses No Reins Jewelweed Salve and soap every summer and we are all itch free! stops any itching as soon as you put it on It honestly will dry up the rash in a day or two great on bug bites too they sell it on ebay!

I had read Jewelweed would help treat poison ivy. I have been taking leaves and stems and crushing them and rubbing them on the effected areas. Letting it dry on my skin. I rub it in briskly. This helps to open the small bumps and has a drying effect on the poison. So far it has stopped the spread. I usually get poison ivy several times per year. Normally using calamine lotion. I have also notice while I use Jewelweed, I urinate more than usual. No other side effects so far.

How I used it: Break open plant stem and rub on affected area (poison ivy) What it does: Jewelweed-Stops itching and dries out poison ivy. Depends on your poison ivy, but here is what happened with mine...Seconds after rubbing stem juice on affected area, poison ivy oil rises out of the skin and you will see it surface. This doesn't always happen, but I noticed it in some spots and I imagine this is a good thing =) I just let it dry and flake off later. Should clear things up within 2 days-to 1 week.
