I've used the tea made from bark of a white oak all my 56yrs. Never took whatever this is. But if you have a really bad sore throat, gargle with tea made from the bark with the lichen on it. It's an old native American thing I picked up as a kid from a book that has actually worked for all 5 members of my family when others, like chloraseptic spray, wouldn't work. I've recently read it's from the inside of the bark, so maybe the lichen doesn't matter. But that's what the old book in the 70s said. I don't know about all these other claims. Read More Read Less

White Oak Bark is an astringent. I had loose teeth and after taking Solaray's White Oak Bark, my teeth tightened overnight.

I had gallstones that hurt from the middle of my back to the center of my belly after two week of drinking white oak bark tea it cleared up.Its been 2 years no more problems.
