A great skin moisturizer and effective on stretch marks resulting from pregnancy and weight loss. It also has a great smell and texture that is easily absorbed and doesn't leave you with the greasy feel you would expect from a product featuring the word 'butter'. A+

I use raw shea butter as sunscreen on my face arms and neck. I work outside everyday. It works better than commercially made sunscreens.

Another unlucky one here, always get a mild reaction from shea, not as strong as other nut allergies at least.

I have been using specifically unrefined or Raw Nilotica Shea Butter commonly called East African Shea Butter from Uganda for 10+ years, almost daily as a moisturizer. It is soft and has a mild characteristic scent. A little goes a long way so apply sparingly.

I guess I’m one of the rare ones. Shea actually does the opposite in me. It dries my skin out and makes it crack and bleed. Anything with shea in it has this effect even using straight shea.

BEST natural and inexpensive moisturizer. I filled an empty lip balm container to use for lips. To apply to hands I found it is easier to have your hands slightly wet and use about a half a teaspoon of shea butter. Rub in till your hands are dry. Works great for hard working hands without chemicals and perfumes.

I have dry skin on my feet, the back of my hands, around my eyes, and sometimes chapped lips, especially in the wintertime. For the past year I've been treating my dry skin with 100% shea butter purchased at my local natural grocery store and packaged in a plastic half pint container. Like all oils, shea butter hardens in the cold, so it's best softened and slightly melted before applying. Place a dab on your palms and rub your palms together as fast as you can to melt it, and then apply where needed. Alternately, use any heat source: a hairdryer, radiator, electric heater, stove or microwave. It melts quickly so very little heat is needed and can then be readily applied. In the past I have tried many skin products to treat my dry skin: every hand cream at the pharmacy, vaseline, and coconut oil. Nothing comes close to shea butter in its effectiveness in protecting my skin and relieving my discomfort. I love my shea butter and I can't recommend it highly enough!!! I feel confident people will increasingly discover that shea butter is effective, and superior, in treating many and most dry skin conditions, and very possibly may have many other uses and applications. It is probably best used in its unadulterated form. Shea butter does not have a marketing team promoting it which is why most of us are not already familiar with it. Dermatologists need to promote using simple shea butter and not fall prey to accepting pharmaceutical money for prescribing expensive products for which they in turn receive cash, vacations, dinners and stays at fancy hotels. No wonder we have people believing in conspiracies with so much unethical behavior in our professional class. Ok, I'm off my soap box. I hope you discover simple shea butter to relieve your skin problems. Try it. You will be delighted.Read More Read Less
